Bones Kickstarter #2 Pre-discussion

I think they should use some of the funds from the next kickstarter to have a real kitchen/cafe installed into their building. Or next door. I thought perhaps that would be a boon for the employees year round and particularly handy during conventions.

Thanks for the additional details. I'm fine with a Sept. or Oct. start. I agree that they do need more time to finish up KS1 though. I enjoyed the mix of fantasy and Chrono models in this KS. I think we may see some mounted figures this time around since those stretch goals were not reached last time. I really don't think there will be any repeats from the first KS. You can get them all from the store now so what is the point? Why would they sell them for cheaper again? I truly think it will be all new stuff, at least new to Bones that is.

I really really really really hope they can do something with a European distributor.

For what it's worth - NZ Post has set up both a UK and a US 'reshipper' service - an address you can ship stuff to and then get it forwarded to your home address. It might be worth looking into to see if anything similar is offered within your own country.

Basically would have worked out to be around $32.50 for shipping a Vampire Box but it's calculated by weight, so especially with a lot of addons it'd get expensive fast. Against that, you'd have had your Bones months ahead of your fellow countrymen and could have sorted the customs side of things well ahead of time. So you can potentially take out some of the uncertainty even without a European distributor.

Based on the 28 successful projects I've seen through I would rate Reaper's communication good for KS1. There is still plenty of room for improvement in their post KS communication, but I'm hardly going to refuse to spend money on that basis.

I've definitely had worse experiences, and better ones, but Reaper's communication is hardly the abject failure many make it out to be. If you think Reaper's communication is terrible maybe KS isn't the place to invest in a product for you unless you research the company's prior success.

If you don't like Reaper's communications stay right away from CMON's projects..,,

That tracks with my KS experiences. I thought Reaper was doing quite well until fulfillment began at the end of March. After that, I think there were some unfortunate miscommunications and silent gaps that caused me some annoyance, but created a storm among a substantial portion of the KS population. (Which was not helped by the unforeseen international shipping problems.)

Budget permitting, I will not hesitate to jump into Bones KS2.

That and Goroloth, of course.

I hope reaper reads their own forum and found this, or at least find it here.

They can immediately take care of the customs as well. It would be cheaper for everyone, and give a lot more certainty. I think they can attract a lot more international backers if they can guarantee that the pledge + international shipping is all you pay. No delays in customs, and no uncertainty about additional costs.

I did like the flat shipping rate, independant of the order. That probably saves them money anyway, just by avoiding all the additional administration.

(related to the topic discussed: no chronoscope for me, please :) )

This is pretty much what I've been saying. There is always room for improvement but we hardly need pointless weekly updates that tell us nothing like some kickstarters do. I will likely back this and since Stonehaven is making elves this time I shouldn't have any trouble with funds.
