kristof65
For me, To back I'll need some sort of reassurance from Reaper that they've learned lessons from the first Kickstarter and they'll be addressing the communication issues. They can lie through their teeth - there's no way I'll know till way too late if they're being honest about it or not. But if the answer is "Well, we thought we did a good job and we're not reviewing comms for this one" I'd rather not bother, thanks. The rest I'll handle myself. I'll use a redirection service to have my shipment to New Zealand sent from the US so I don't get treated like a pariah again. And I'll consider 2 orders - one base set, and one with the options. That will address the majority of my concerns, but the one thing I can't compensate for is communication from Reaper, and without it I'll lose hours, days, maybe months of productivity. If that's going to be the case it'll be cheaper and faster for me tobuy from a 3rd party. One thing I've learned about Reaper over the years, and one of the characteristics they have that I think makes them a good company is that they do learn from their mistakes. No, that aren't perfect, but they don't tend to make the same type of mistake over and over again, unlike a lot of other companies. A good example of this is the release of CAV2 versus the release of Warlord 2. CAV2 was hounded by years of promises and delays, and the origin of the Soon joke. Warlord 2, however, caught a lot of people off guard - only a core group of people even knew it was in development before it was released. The release of Warlord 2 made it obvious that Reaper had learned at least some lessons from the CAV2 fiasco. So while it is very likely that this new Bones KS will have some problems of its own, based on Reaper's track record over the years, it's a lot less likely that they'll be the same problems the first one had. No, the KS2 problems will likely be brand new and completely unexpected. But hopefully much, much lesser in scope, too, since they experienced some big ones already. In fact, I imagine that a large portion of their planning for the new one will involve analyzing what went wrong with the first one and figuring out workable solutions before those problems pop up again. Baphomet69
I'm sorry, but I'm impolitic. Have Reaper's comms dwindled during the fulfillment of the KS? Absolutely. But anyone that 'won't back the next without assurances that they've "learned their lesson"' are just ... Well, I can't find a polite expression. Seriously. Yeah, maybe they could have communicated more. But have you considered the fact that the reason they haven't was that every swinging Richard in the house was in the back room working on fulfillment? Think about it it. They even let their core metal figure business suffer because it was 'all-hands-on-deck' to fulfill their KS promises. I'll be called a frothing Reaper fanboy by some because of this reply, but I promise you, I'm not. If they hadn't earned my respect from years of dedicated customer service, I'd let the chips fall where they may, but their EXTENSIVE positive track record has earned them some wiggle room. I've yet to see the game/RPG/figure Kickstarter that went perfectly smoothly and hit every time goal. I have no idea what they plan to include in Reaper KS 2.0, but at this point, all I need to know is what the total pledge needs to be. And that is without having painted even one of my Reaper KS 1.0 minis or having any idea what 2.0 may bring. Thats not fanboy, that is (earned) trust.
Lord Dragon
I just pulled my pledge from Wrath of Kings in order to fully invest here. I have no doubt it will be worth it. plus I there will be a small amout of cheesecake minis compared to the 50 or 60 in wrath of kings

Baphomet69
not a fan of wrath of kings huh just curious what are your reasons Not a fan of the style. I prefer either 'old school' D&D style figs or more lifelike. For the old school feel, ref Center Stage Miniatures or Fractured Dimensions. Otherwise, I like the more 'realistic' style of most of Reaper's (non-anime style) figs. Now, if I could get the WoK minis pro-painted as shown in the KS for the same price...all bets would be off...
Last Knight
Again, same. Except about the pre-painted, those paint jobs are gorgeous but eh. I'm not interested in picking up another wargame, and the minis aren't awesome enough for me to want them on their own.

Im with you I wasnt be biggest fan of the minis, there were a few that I thought were cool and the paint jobs on the KS were great. the only thing it really had going for it in the end was what looked like cool game play. I liked the D10 system but in the end I wanted great looking minis and with reaper bones 2 right around the corner I couldnt pass it up.
Baphomet69
Seriously, I'm about burnt out on wargames (my group is mainly Flames of War with the occasional Civil War (Fire and Fury) and Napoleonic (Age of Eagles) thrown in). I absolutely LOVE the Warlord rules, but (and this is the one thing about Reaper that baffles me), with Reaper's current level of support for their own freakin' game, there's no way I can sell my group on playing it. I don't care to play our current line-up of games anymore, so I basically just show up and hang out on game days now. I've even become the running joke about showing up and never playing. Sucks. Warlord rocks. Or could...
Baphomet69
ETA: Reaper take note. KS vol. 2 needs to revive Warlord. Period.
Lord Dragon
I would love it if reaper bones 2 was centered around a great game that way you can get to twice the bang for your buck. a great playable game plus super awesome minis. either that or more dragons can never go wrong with more dragons. I'm not interested in picking up another wargame, and the minis aren't awesome enough for me to want them on their own. I have no interest in the game, but I like the Pelegarth. I could have use for them as weird outer planers. But with Bones 2 looming I'm not prepared to pay up front for something in Possibly May that I might sometime use once. I can wait, see if they're available separately at retail later.
