I'm thinking that's going to have to be Resin. Not sure if she can be cast in metal as is (her hair I'm pretty sure isn't doable unless each strand is it's own piece) but I'm not even 100% that she is even cast-able at all in resin without being super expensive but it might not even be possible.

We are going to the foundry this weekend to discuss casting. We want to cast all of our miniatures in lead-free metal, so that is what we are working towards. :-)

Weird, I recall writing a post in this thread, but it isn't here.

I really like the look of Misaki, her concept art reminds me of Elfquest. I was curious what the scale is for these.

You should add a link to your facebook page on the project page. You mention it on the main page: "Like M&K Adventures on Facebook for updates" but then there is no way to visit the page or like it.

Hi - Thanks for the suggestions, we will certainly take a look at linking the pages together. As for the scale, the miniatures will be in the 28mm scale range. Misaki will be a bit bigger, as the dragon is approximately 38mm to the top of the wings.

Firstly I'd like to see these next to a Reaper mini.

Secondly I like Misaki, and Kenziee looks like she could be good as well.

That's about it for me.

The only other concept art that I like, and its not too appealing as a mini if duplicated from the art, is Koyuki.

I guess my main issue is that your concept art looks like "fan art" to me, not anime. I watch all sorts of anime from stuff aimed at tweenie girls (I have 2) to mature hard sci-fi stuff, and very little of your concept art makes me go "that's cool". Though Misaki's miniature does that even if her art doesn't.

Hi - We will try to post some pictures of the miniatures next to Reaper minis so you can see the scale. It will be probably a few weeks, since we are visiting the foundry this week to discuss casting. Hopefully we will have some actual metal cast miniatures to show and compare in the next few weeks. We will also be posing more character art, and we appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

these are great. I have to ask though if you have any intention of doing any sculpts that are 'aesthetically similar' to some of the more famous anime characters many of us know and love ~cough Rin Tohsaka cough~ :;): or are they all going to remain completely original in that regard?

We definitely intend to do characters "similar" to Rin, but we have to be careful not to step on any copyright issues. All of our characters during our Kickstarter will be completely original, but we are interested in knowing exactly what everyone wants, so your opinions are greatly appreciated. ^_^

well Rin is easy enough. leave off the trademark cross motif on her top, and she's just another girl in a mini skirt and stockings. School uniformed girls would be cool, either younger ones in the well known 'sailor fuku' style of uniform, or highschool in blazers and skirts.

We have a brother and sister school kids that we have been working on. The concept art isn't completed, but I will try to post a pic later this week so you can let us know what you like and what you don't like about it. Thank you very much for your suggestions. ^_^

thank you for these minis. I have something of a love for anime/manga styled art, and look forward to painting some figures up

We posted the picture of the brother and sister in school uniforms. They are on their way to school, and the sister isn't really listening to what her brother is saying. lol. Check out the page here : http://mkadventures.com/characters-in-the-works.html - The new picture is at the bottom of the page. Please let us know what you think. Thank you.
