dks
Beautiful! The texture and contrast on the green robe are great, as are the freehand and the overall harmony of colors. The beard works well -- virtually indistinguishable from the stock figure. The floor, however, seems to be eating his vestments, starting with the gold trim in the rear. I would guess that you attached him to the base at a slight backward tilt, and then built the floor around the figure, so the bottom of his robe (chasuble?) turned out to be below floor-level. But I recognize that resculpting the trim with the repeating circle design would have been hard to do. Keep up the good work. Derek
Warlady
He's gorgeous! Your green is amazing and the shamrocks - wow! That kinds of freehand just blows me away.
MamaGeek
Thanks, everyone! Derek, yes, I noticed that after the fact, too. Do you think just painting a thin border like the rest would help, even if it's not sculpted? Edited August 27, 2013 by MamaGeek

Hellcow
Huh. I never knew what the significance of a shamrock was. Cool. You did a wonderful job on this mini, MamaGeek. I think the beard adds quite a bit of character to his face. Same here! I love finding out things like this about important figures in history. Truly an inspired miniature MamaGeek - you are an amazing artist!

MamaGeek
OK, folks, what do you think? Better base? No more floor eating the back of the chasuble!
