And Dark Fable is planning another Egyptian-themed KS with minis similar to their existing series.

It may launch next week already.

I’m not backing any LIVE projects at the moment but I have a bunch of FUNDED kickstarters I’m waiting on to fulfill.

Other than the usual suspects, like Oathsworn or Bob Naismiths next OverRunner project, I don’t have much on my KS radar coming up.

Oh yes, I've got about a dozen in various stages of fulfilment, so I'm not sorry to have a breather.

I saw that Bob Naismith is thinking of doing more aliens. I'm a bit disappointed that he hasn't completed the heavy vehicles he teased us with earlier.

Something seems to have gone wrong.

For the first time in well over two years I'm not backing ANYTHING on Kickstarter.

I pledged for "Miremarsh" and that finished a couple of days ago. Then I looked around and realised that there just aren't any projects that interest me.

So have I changed, or are the good ideas drying up?

I can only speak for myself, but my own rate of pledging has slowed down.

The "Gotta catch'em all" or "Too good a deal to pass" syndrome has come and gone. In 2012, with the first Bones campaign, miniatures on KS were still relatively new, few and far between. Now there always seem to be a new KS for minis, or board games, or what not (3D printers, wallets, novelty dice).

Now I kind of reached the point of "too much of a good thing". Minis are coming in faster that I can paint them. Even if I were to paint at a rate of 1/day, I'd have enough to last me a decade.

I went through something similar in the early years of P2P downloading (Napster, Kazaa, Bittorrent) with getting every anime series I could find, and basically never watching them. Or others with gajillions of mp3 files with no way to listen to them all. Though in this case, live streaming has mollified my need to own everything.

I've never actually backed anything with serious money since Bones I now that I think on it.  I don't think me and Kickstarter get on well, because either I'm not interested in the stuff, or I'm skeptical of the project/delivery/final result, or it's not a really good deal, or it's too good a deal and it means I'll just wind up swamped with stuff.

I'm literally impossible to please, so that's why I don't pledge for nothin.  But I'm the kind of person who studies something a lonnnngggg time before deciding it's worth spending money on.  Mostly because initial investments tend to grow (like Terraclips did).  Case in point:  I've been eyeing Warlord Games's stuff for a while now and I think I might finally maybe be thinking about possibly considering the thought of maybe some of the books for Hail Caeser.

But I don't wanna rush into anything, I've only been thinking about it for a few years.

For me, I think the novelty of paying now to get a dose of hobby goodness in a year or so has worn a bit thin (or I'm becoming older and wiser and realising I might not actually need all the things).

Either way, for 4 out of the last 5 Kickstarters I've backed, I've ended up dropping my pledge down to a pound out of sheer lost of interest, so I just don't really look at them anymore.

I'm already talking myself out of the Limbo Kickstarter, and that hasn't even started yet!

For boardgames, CMON's pre-announcement of upcoming KS means I'm less likely to back another KS that interests less. They're revising Prohject: ELITE, which had good reviews, but whose previous KS fulfillment by another company was a fiasco.

For boutique miniatures, I still haven't touched my Darksword Stephanie Law miniatures, and I've backed Kingdom Death. Limbo mini's look good, though.

For terrain, I received Secret Weapon and Forge Prints terrain sets, and that's a lot of terrain to paint! I look forward to their next projects. Dwarven Forge is too boutique for me. I prefer inexpensive general use game tiles, and specialized accessory pieces. I'll avoid plastic injection by companies that don't have experience in it.

Thanks for the tip on this, Grefven, I'll certainly be watching this.

Just one very serious problem: The British Officer has his beret tilted in the WRONG direction!!!

I am avoiding any kickstarters from the following two companies: Megacon games and Soda Pop Miniatures/Ninja Division. Both for the same reasons.

- poor communications especially from owners/higher up

- secretive

- no one knows what they did with the funding

- extremely late (I have another project I backed that's more late, but the people are communicating and providing pictures of product being made)

- megacon still hiding behind NDA. Where are the cardboard stuff they charged us shipping for?

- Soda pop minis sounds like they are heading towards bankruptcy (I sure hope not)

I'm usually non vocal or not worried about projects, but these two irritate me every time i scroll through my list to see what's up.
