Assimiliation Alien Host by Edward Fortae: The promise of it being delivered is limping along but actual delivery?

Black Hallows Townsfolk: Late. If it gets here before July I'd be shocked.

Critical Role: Massive quality problems but those appear to be resolved.

Stonehaven Dwarves Vol 2: I've backed several. Surprised he flipped to digital sculpting. I hope they start selling the STLs too.

The Ancient Evil - Cthulhu mythos miniatures: Resin issues. Communication has been fair so I'm fairly optimistic. He's even offered to split the deleveries with the material already available for an additional s&h costs.

Table Titans Fallen Veil Adventure Set: Wow did Toonhound Studios blow this. I suspect it'll still get out to backers but when? Maybe when 6th edition hits or something. "It’s also become pretty clear to us that bi-monthly updates are simply not sustainable. " How pitiful are you as a company when an update like that isn't 'sustainable'.

I started this thread five and a half years ago. That's sobering

This made me go back and read the first few pages.

Wow! Bones 1 had just fulfilled and people were looking forward to Bones 2.

My. How times have changed. :upside:

And I was surprised I didn’t turn up to post until page 8 of your thread.

Must’ve been busy doing something.:unsure:

For the first time in a long time, I don't have anything very late on kickstarter.  I've received Scion 2, and the Infinity RPG (just about 3yrs late) this week.  Well, aside from Starfinder minis, but I've mentally closed that down even if ND isn't saying they're dead yet.  My open projects are:

Expanse RPG (Jan 2019) - pdfs have been sent.  physical copies immanent (so i've been led to believe)

Your Best Game Ever! (Sep 2019)

JourneyQuest 3.5 (Jun 2019) - waiting on phyiscal media, but digital delivered

Tsuro: Phoenix Rising (Sep 2019)

Life of the Party Vol 3 (Nov 2019) heading to the printers

Dry Erase Game Tokens (Jul 2019)

I've a pdf pledge in for Odyssey of the Dragonlords, but that closes tomorrow.

It's not often I can do a big update after just two weeks, but half of my outstanding KS have arrived.  There is just the one that shipped from halfway around the world, ETA unknown.  Actually I've had so many packages come in from overseas these last few months I've probably landed on a watch list and customs is playing with my minis.

On 5/2/2019 at 8:08 PM, Auberon said:

I can't remember when I last updated anything so I'll just go with outstanding projects.  I haven't really been that active on KS lately:

Shadows of Esteren: Dearg

- In the process of fulfilling, so I should have it by the end of the month.

Bones IV

- I ordered all 3 troubled items.  Last I checked my package was in Kansas.

Legends of Signum

- I have my shipping notice, so I expect it to make its way here by the end of May.

Black Sailors: Legends of the Jade Sea

- Shipped as well, so sometime this month.

The Stygian Depths - Lost Temple of Xibalba

- I don't remember my exact order, but I think it included some of the items that aren't ready yet.  So another month at least.

Terrain Essentials

- It's not running behind yet.

Delivered from the last update:

Summoning a Dragon, Chronicles of Run, Heresy Labs 1.2, SJG - Wizard/Melee, Bones IV, Greebo Games: Alastoran Demons & Hobby Holder II.

Warehouse 13 board game - Over a year late. dice issues have maybe been resolved.

Antenocities Workshop IMF vehicles: 8 months late. Company just got notified by their landlord that he wants to re-purpose the building they're in and they don't have funds to move.  My hopes of this fulfilling are rapidly diminishing.  They have offered the option to go to STL files, and worse case scenario is I'll go there, but I really don't want to pay someone else to produce these models, especially since money is a lot tighter now than it was when I bought into this and I have no idea how much these would cost to get printed at a resin like quality.  ::(:

Impact Miniatures Chibi Sisters of Conflict - Due in May, update pushed back most delivery to June now.

Book of Monsters - Coming up on six months late, and it's been a few months since there was any updates.  This was only a $9 buy-in so I'm not going to be heartbroken if nothing ever comes of it.

Gangfight: generic rules: Two months late.  Just sent out second beta playtest rules to certain groups.  Seems to be some issues on the tea since they put out one update saying they were shifting to softback, then back pedaled after the screaming from backers and changed back to a hardback book.  At least they're putting out updates?

Tabletop Village - May 19, seems unlikely they'll deliver this month, but they've been making updates so I trust I'll get the product.

Orc Warband by Yedharo - still calling for July delivery.  Advertising for another KS for Dwarves in the next few weeks, but I don't know if I'll back without having gotten this one first.

Bombshell Babes IV - December this year.

Mantic Terrain Crate II - Jan 2020.

I started this thread five and a half years ago. That's sobering

It's *still* a very useful thread. Okay, time to finally contribute! ^_^

Not recommended:

* CMON: Doubled or otherwise greatly shipping charges without notifying backers. May back for $1 for PM access.

* Cryptozoic Games: Poor quality of miniatures.

* Trollcast: Received my Alien Assimilation miniatures, but the project is over five years late.

* Idyllwyld Games (Nick Ryan) and Menhir Games: Partners fell apart. Never delivered on Dark Ages Outpost.

No strong recommendation: First three are boardgames without miniatures. If the game isn't a must-have and can wait for a sale, you can get the base game at half the price of the KS plus shipping.

* Mayfair Games: Received my boardgame pledge, but found it on sale at the OLGS.

* Japanime Games: Lost my boardgame pledge and shipped my rewards to the distributor. Boardgames available at the OLGS.

* AEG: Received my boardgame pledge, but found it on sale at the OLGS.

* Mantic Games: Terrain Crate. Good variety of miniatures, but not particularly high quality.

Recommended: Most of these I no longer back as the KS are not the value I'm looking for, or I wasn't interested in the theme. But the quality of their miniatures is high.

* Reaper: Backed all the Bones KS. Looking forward to their next KS!

* Galladoria Games: Resin miniatures. Looking forward to their next KS!

* Dwarven Forge: Backed first game tiles KS.

* Petersen Games: Backed their first Cthulhu Wars KS.

* Stonehaven Miniatures: Backed their non-miniature "pop-up terrain" KS.

* Impact Miniatures: Backed Little Urban Achievers resin miniatures.

* Stonemaier Games: Backed Treasure Chest: Realistic Resource Tokens.

* Dark Sword Miniatures: Backed Stephanie Law metal miniatures.

* Stones Dungeon Tiles: Backed Dungeon Tiles.

* Monolith: Backed Conan.

* Heath and Seth Robinson: Backed Terra Tiles.

* Secret Weapon Miniatures: Backed Tablescapes Dungeon

* Mythic: Backed Mythic Battles.

* Hand of Glory: Metal miniatures.

* RPE: Metal miniatures.

* Thomas Foss: Metal miniatures.

Out of Business, Retired, or Pretty Much Dead:

* Mythical Lairs. Resin miniatures.

* Itar's Workshop: Resin miniatures.

* Tom Wilfong: Arkham Horror dice.

* RAFM: Cthulhu metal miniatures.

* Johnny Lauck: Metal miniatures. Retired.

* CuCu Dice: Arkham Horror dice.

* Buffalo Games Nuclear War. Retired.

* MegaConGames: Myth. IP sold to Essen North (?). Project delayed.

Waiting on:

* MAKI Games: Delayed. Starter sets delivered. Waiting on stretch goals.

* Kingdom Death Monster: Delayed. Base game delivered. Waiting on stretch goals.

* Quixotic Games: No delays. Waiting on board game expansion.

* Architects of Destruction:  No delays. Rampage game tiles.

* Tanner Yarro: No delays. Battle Maps.

* Loke Battlemats: No delays. Battle Maps.

- Rising shipping costs are making KS projects, particularly boardgames, less attractive. Amazon and OLGS are strong competition for boardgames. Boardgames are becoming less bulk value than expensive deluxe high-end editions.

- KS is still good for bulk miniatures, since they are difficult or more expensive retail, which typically means buying direct from the creator and paying shipping.

- Dungeon tiles may be affected by WizKid's OpenLock and DragonLock compatible basic dungeon tile sets. Maybe this means more KS of compatible exotic tile sets. Rising shipping costs for a heavy product means it may be time to buy a 3D printer!

Well here we go again. Time to update what’s been going on with my list.

(Delays Delays Delays)

Imbrian Arts: Over 6 Years Overdue. 4 months since Jody and I last messaged and we agreed on what minis he was to send me. Nothings arrived. I’ve recently messaged him again but haven’t yet received a reply.

Day Night Z: Late 17 months. Last update was 10 days ago. Still waiting for the manual. They restated that they wouldn’t start shipping anything until they received everything. Very frustrating.

Bones 4: Received early as I’m Canadian. Yay me! Still haven’t emailed Reaper the list of the few items I’m missing but this is pretty much done for me.

Time of Legend - Joan of Arc: This ones confusing as heck. Last update states the first two ships have arrived in Europe and the first US ship has left port and is on its way there. Canada, Australia and ROW orders seem to have been lumped together and will ship last after the US ship arrives.

No lie. I’m pretty pessimistic about when I’m going to be receiving this.

War in Christmas Village sequel: This continues to be a shipping mess. Apparently Amazon has requested the projects creators to send different skus to different shipping warehouses. The project creators say they’re learning, and so am I, I’ve learnt not to back them again.

It appears they’re still having problems with domestic shipments and since Canada and international shipments won’t go out till all the domestic have been done, no real idea when that will be.

Blackwater Gulch - Minions and Monsters: 5 Months Overdue and they’ve now stopped trying to do production in house with 3 D printing and are instead getting Valiant to manufacture the minis in traditional resin.

Thats good and bad news. Valiant does good work but this could mean another 2 months of production time before all the minis are completed. Then there’s still packaging and sorting orders before the time it actually takes to ship to the customers.

Hopefully I’ll see my minis before the fall.

Animal Adventures - Dungeons and Doggies: Received. All good.

Stonehaven Dwarves 2: Delayed. The last updated held a surprise, That Mike had switched over to digital sculpting from physical for the Dwarves. This has caused unforeseen problems and delays, along with the Stonehaven family moving across the country, Right now backers don’t have any real idea of when to expect their minis.

Bears Head - Narthoks the Excellent: Waiting for the minis to travel across half the world to get to me. Received an email April 24th that it had been shipped.

Past experience tells me this can take as long as 8 weeks.

I sits and I waits.

Mantics Terrain Crate 2: Expect to ship Jan 2020. Backers have been told the pledge manager will be up soon and stay up for two months.

So now that at I’ve received my Bones and my Doggies, it would seem there’s not much point in me hanging around the mailbox. At least not for a few weeks anyway.

Time for an update on the waiting game.

Imbrian Arts: Jody has stopped replying to my messages. I’m declaring this one dead and recommend against anyone dealing with this broccoli head in the future.

Day Night Z: No promised update in May. None so far in June. This is stretching out too far with too poor of any communication for me to feel anything but worried about this.

Time of Legend - Joan of Arc: The container ship with the Canadian orders has apparently landed in port in Vancouver. Hopefully this one will be over soon.

War in Christmas Village sequel: No updates or info at all for when us Canadians can expect or minis. This is beyond frustrating. At this point it won’t matter what I think of the minis, assuming I do eventually get them, I won’t be backing this creator again.

Black Water Gulch - Minions and Monsters: No recent updates. Presumably the minis are still going through production. I expect we’re still months away from delivery.

Stonehaven Dwarves 2: Very very disappointing lack of communication. Makes me sad that what was once one of my favourite and most trusted companies has become one that I am becoming unlikely to back future projects of. No idea when to expect delivery to start. Sounds like Mike is still making corrections to his renders so that they can be produced.

Bears Head - Narthoks the Excellent: Delivery happened several weeks ago. Overall very pleased with the minis.

Mantics Terrain Crate 2:  Pledge Manager closed earlier this week. Now the wait begins for delivery next year.

I haven’t backed any new kickstarters since Mantics Terrain Crate 2. Most likely Bones 5 will be my next one.
