Bake Your Own Basius - Base Stamps 4 Wargames Miniatures

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure Sweden & Norway would be in the EU pledge level

(remember they can't edit the description once somebody pledges and listing all EU/EEA countries would have made a very long untidy list, my guess they named those countries they'd had enquires from by the time the pledge level was put up... although I agree it's not well worded, my guess)

they'll get back to you if you want to ask....

Ah, ok. They should definitely update the info on the front page in that case. I think I read through most of it earlier in the campaign and it seemed like Norway was left out.

Which in and off itself isn't that strange as we're not EU, I've had that happen before.

I agree: you should ask. Their list of EU countries is a little odd given what is in the list and what isn't. After all, Norway is a lovely place (I've only been to Stavanger and Oslo, but thoroughly enjoyed both brief business trips).

I'm still tempted, but, ouch, the cost is high for those in the States. A just taste of what it costs the rest of the world for the US Kickstarter projects, but still. :;):

After the KS the basing stamps are apparently going to be available via http://zinge.co.uk/

(another company but they will be stocking the basius stuff)

so if your interested but the postage makes it unappealing getting the later (along with other stuff to make the postage worthwhile) might make more sense

That is good to know. the timing and cost and this is probably going to force it off my list. I backed a WWI photobook that was just far more interesting to me.

As much as I was tempted by these base stamps, the cost is prohibitive to me right now. While I really like the rocky and ruined road stamps, I realized that I could get 100-130ish pre-made bases from Secret Weapon or Micro Art Studios for the price of 4 stamps.

I like the looks of these better than the Happy Seppuku i pledgd for....but timing is everything. I need to wait and see how much i use the Seppuku before buying more.

I gave into temptation and pledged for 4 of these base stamps. I received them about when they promised, and I'm quite pleased with the bases.

The bases are similar to the Happy Seppuku bases except that they are made of resin and tend to have deeper and more varied textures for your bases.

I've played with a couple of them (Rolling Plains and Silverfall Junction), and I really like the results.

Are they going to be economically reasonable for those in the US (especially with shipping) compared to just getting many packs of premade bases? Probably not until you get to doing scores of bases from a single stamp. All the same, I wish that I had gotten a couple more.

The bases will be available from Zinge Industries.

Good to hear that there are deeper and more varied textures. If they had hit before Happy Seppuku I would've went with them but the shipping costs might've stopped me anyway. Love to see some video or samples when you have time.

Hmmm.. I've used the Happy Suppuku wooden planks on a lot of things and I'm not seeing a HUGE improvement, if any in those pictures. I'll have to see if I can snag a few pics of mine.
