Nocturne
One thing to watch out for when using renumbered dice is picking it up when you're intending to pick up another die of the same shape. There's nothing quite like grabbing a D8 and rolling South West,
buglips*the*goblin
It was used in context to justify buying more minis when you already have more than you will ever need or will ever paint. In other words, not really funny at all. The humour comes from repetition. So buglips made a running gag, similar to Monty Python, which buglips hates, which makes it funny for me. After all, no one expects the spanish inquisition. 20 years of repetition from now I'll hate myself, too. Also, 20 is both a minimum and a maximum. Also also, this means we're all 20 years old forever. Immortality for the win! **** If you are actually 20, or have an actual count of 20, then this is a natural 20. Doug Sundseth
And if you're made from carbon compounds, it's an organic 20. Inorganic 20s are restricted to iron golems, elementals, and the like.
sumbloke
One thing to watch out for when using renumbered dice is picking it up when you're intending to pick up another die of the same shape. Chessex's 12-sided d4s are nice, because they use Roman numerals, so they're hard to mistake. But six-sided d3s really aren't very good for fireballs. Other trap dice: d20 numbered as 0-9 twice. I used to have quite a few of these, as that was the only numbering scheme that anyone offered. Typically, gamers would color one set of numbers in a light color and the other in a dark color. There were people who would pick which color was which after rolling. Average dice (d6 numbered 2,3,3,4,4,5 -- used for some miniatures games) Novelty dice (I have a set with one die numbered 2,2,2,2,6,6 and the other with nothing but 5s and I have another die with two 6s and no 1s) I keep these far away from my gaming dice, in a dedicated box. It would be embarrassing to use them in game. Not to mention Formula D/Formula Dé dice, fudge dice and spin-down life counters.
haldir
One of my favorite dice is a d3 (123 123) out of legend of zelda board game back i n the day. Funny how that one gets used allot during a game. As far as sets I'm partial to Chessex transparent or the swirled sets. I do need to pick up a set of bile greens thou.......
The Basilisk
Got any pictures of that triforce d3? c8 There are times when I think I almost like dice more than miniatures, and miniatures only come out on top because I have more of them. Suden
All this talk about dice had me googling rpg dice where I came across this: http://www.toplessrobot.com/2009/04/the_10_most_shameful_rpg_dice.php Warning, a couple commenters* seemed offended, but I don't know why. Most people with a d100 can laugh about it, maybe it's not the case for people with a d34. *spell check thinks this is wrong. It suggests commenter, commenter s, and commentators as viable alternates. Too bad, I'm sticking with commenters.

My boyfriend thinks decaders are for dummies, so the fact that it goes up to 1,000 will make him poop a brick.
Doug Sundseth
Chessex sells specific dice to go up to d1,000,000 (they have a 10-sided die with 5 '0's after the digit on each side, though I don't see it on their website).
haldir
Got any pictures of that triforce d3? c8 I'm at work right now but it looks like the black die in this shot: http://www.thetanooki.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/zeldadice.jpg Very simple just black with bold white numbers. TGP
*spell check thinks this is wrong. It suggests commenter, commenter s, and commentators as viable alternates. Too bad, I'm sticking with commenters. Google has become the defacto standard of spelling for the English language. Type a word in google, any word. Should you misspell that word Google will offer a guess such as: "Did you mean: commenters" ...as an option to click on. Your spell check software is only as good as its last update, but Google is always up to date. And, it is smart enough to not quibble over Britlish versus Americanese spellings, e.g: colour versus color. Got any pictures of that triforce d3? c8 I'm at work right now but it looks like the black die in this shot: http://www.thetanooki.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/zeldadice.jpg Very simple just black with bold white numbers. That is how my D3 is made. But mine is bright yellow with black numerals. (When I bought it I thought it was a D6... ...I just liked the color combo.)
