A few Chibi Heroes

Well, here are a few of the Super Dungeon minis that I've painted for my own set. I decided to start out with the ones that have clear references for them:

For the Deeproot scout I went with a 'Deepoot scout to the past' color scheme. Pre time traveling ocarina.

Super Starguild Sapper (I have a second one to paint up in green)

And I decided to go with a Richter Van Wilding color scheme on the last one:

Who wouldn't be complete without his shapeshift:

And last of all- I decided to just ditch the reference all together for my Princess Ruby. That's because we have a second, and my wife is going with a more peachy color scheme.

But from your wonderful goggles (Which I am ogling as well) I think I am beginning to understand where I am doing my gems wrong. I am trying to do too clean of a shading gradient, while the hard (but well blended) color transitions are better suited for giving that cabochon like look.

I saw some of the preproduction resins of some of their upcoming minis at PAX. When those are released my resolve to resist them will break.

No, that was Impact Miniatures (I have a few of theirs from Gencon, but I haven't gotten any of them painted just yet).

 

This is by Sodapop Miniatures (the game they're from is called Super Dungeon Explore). They're all the same scale (it is clear to me that Impact's line is meant to be compatible).

 

Since it is for the board game, you have to get the game/expansions to get the minis, while Impact sells their as singles.
