I blatantly stole the velvet idea from someone who posted here earlier. So credit where that is due. I am afraid I do not remember who.

 

'Velvet' was 'easy' Just a big red base coat, then a blood red-ish wash then work the 'edge' back up to a very bright almost pink. :)
