I'm really surprised by this one. Short of the old Kaladrax, this is the last dragon I'd figure as a good candidate for Bones. Interesting.

Why not the old Kaladrax? I'm not very familiar with that sculpt, other than that it was much smaller/less dynamic than current Kaladrax.

I was hopeing that we'd make it to the next goal by the time I woke up. I was kinda hopeing for The Storm Lizard or whatever his name is (the blue dragon) Or something else entirely like a tarrasque :P. Just not feeling this one.

Old metal Kaladrax had problems standing up and often collapsed under his metal weight. V-thrax, with his long spindly limbs seems like he would be prone to rubber legs as well in Bones. Perhaps this is one of the things they've been able to work out. Either way, for $10 I will take the chance, and if he doesn't stand, he becomes basing material.

Reaper aren't going to tell us outright that the Bones dragons sell like hotcakes, generate masses of interest, and make them loads of dough.

 

That said, the competing theories for "why so many dragons?" are all pretty weak. "Because Reaper are dummies who dumb dumbly"; "Because nobody loves me"; and "Because they don't realise that really what they need to do is produce licensed collectible randomised resin miniatures of my favourite drone/sludge metal band who have a really great local following and will break onto the wider music scene any year now" are among the front runners. The rest are worse.

 

EDIT: I hope 'thrax gets made of the stiffer Bonesium, it's great stuff!

Verocithrax is an awesome sculpt. I have one painted up. I recomend that anyone who gets him to mount him on a CD sized base.

Bonesium is easy enough to pin, mod, and adjust where I'm willing to take the risk. This sculpt doesn't excite me, but it's nice enough and I'm content to keep on rolling.

Well, I think I see what's going on here. Dragons are cool and cool rules. Dragons are so cool that they sell pretty well in metal and I imagine that in BONES they are going to be huge sellers. I mean, there are alot of people that will by a dragon for a display piece but wont by the Ogre. Big figures require more costly molds. It just makes sense that Reaper wants to move the whole line of dragons over to BONES. I know it feels like allot, but we are getting years worth of dragon sculpts in the span of 2 KS.

TWO at all 3 conventions we have done since the KS fulfillment concluded, we sold out of every dragon we brought, and online & Distributor sales are high. THREE: for the last year you people have been begging us to put every dragon we have in Bones to make them affordable.

I regret in KS 1 not getting more dragons to be honest. In KS 2 Im pretty much getting all of them so far (the bigger ones anyway) So dont fret....I just dont like the last one :P and plus Tarrasque!
