I for one am happy to see the dragons. I may not buy every one of them, but I'm certainly in for the bulk of the ones you've added...and the hatchlings are awesome.

Reaper has heard my concerns re:Deathsleet and assured me enough that the problem is being worked diligently on that I'm in on these new dragons.

That said, that Verocithrax picture is of the metal version. I would expect to see significant modification to the base size to make it bigger. The model will also need to be stiffer Bonesium. If it's to be usable without significant aftermarket modification.

It's an engineering challenge. That Reaper is prepared to put that thing in Bones, after knowing our complaints on Deathsleet and Jabberwock, doesn't alarm me so much as tell me they are confident about solving that issue.

Bryan, I hope you don't perceive any of my comments as a criticism. I love you guys and what your doing. If dragons and heroes fund the rest of the line, then by all means, get the products on the shelf. I'll take my monsters and mooks as I can get them. :D

Reaper aren't going to tell us outright that the Bones dragons sell like hotcakes, generate masses of interest, and make them loads of dough.

That said, the competing theories for "why so many dragons?" are all pretty weak. "Because Reaper are dummies who dumb dumbly"; "Because nobody loves me"; and "Because they don't realise that really what they need to do is produce licensed collectible randomised resin miniatures of my favourite drone/sludge metal band who have a really great local following and will break onto the wider music scene any year now" are among the front runners. The rest are worse.

EDIT: I hope 'thrax gets made of the stiffer Bonesium, it's great stuff!

I did. They are bestsellers, they make great business sense, and we find them profitable. Your comments are appreciated, BTW, I can see your support in them, and it helps.

I hate to break out of professional mode, because somebody always gets mad when I take off the hat and become just Bryan for a minute, but this is very frustrating. But here ya go.

/Hat off

We spend a lot of time working on this, and there's a zillion factors to consider and there's NEVER a goal that people don't complain about and it makes me sick. The woofing and complaining from March till fulfillment ended in September literally gave me ulcers. When we posted that fulfillment had started and showed a photo of me by the pallets of minis, and people complimented my weight loss? I wasn't dieting - I couldn't keep food down because of the stress and anxiety.

A while back I asked everyone to promise me that on these boards they would not complain about goals they didn't like, and in exchange I previewed the chimera within what I'm allowed to do. I'm asking now that everyone honor that. I need this forum as a refuge from the stress of the KS comments.

/Hat on.

Thanks for listening.

LOL, I'm not complaining, but I will second the question. Can he stand up with that small base?

Not to run counter to Sergei too much, but yes. My Verocithrax is mounted on a 60mm round (I think). Of course, it's metal, not Bones. For a Bones one, I'm guessing you are going to want a bigger base for stability. Verocithrax is pretty top-heavy. I'll try to snag a pic of mine tonight, if you'd like.

I get it. You guys are sick of dragons. three things: ONE in our last KS the Dragons were the single most popular add-ons - every dragon beat out every non-dragon. TWO at all 3 conventions we have done since the KS fulfillment concluded, we sold out of every dragon we brought, and online & Distributor sales are high. THREE: for the last year you people have been begging us to put every dragon we have in Bones to make them affordable.

Not a chance in Bones. But Reaper's full of smart people and they've modified bases for other Bones minis to account for the material. Colossal skeleton, the lady giants, some of the smaller bits. Vthrax will definitely need a bigger base, so I'm sure he'll get one. Even if the material isn't soft, he'll be so light and so tall he'll fall over with the slightest breeze on that tiny base.

Remember, Bryan, for every complainer, there are a thousand backers who are thrilled with you.

I personally can't afford more than one or two of the dragons right now, but I'm thrilled they exist--it keeps the money rolling in, which means you guys can keep making more of the stuff I do want, and I'll be able to pick them up later if I need them, which I never could in metal. You have my support now and forever. If that makes me a fanboi, then so be it.

We're having Kevin adapt the base based on what we have learned with our other dragons.

It's fine. Every update just stresses me out. And the last two days have been rough because of other issues, not entirely work related, and I'm sorry I exploded at people.

You posted that in the wrong spot, Bryan. This isn't the KS comments page. :;):

This is where I come to be ME. Over there I have to be the Hat.

For those wanting monsters and mooks, I feel ya, brother. I want 'em too. But it took me all of 0.5 seconds to figure out why the dragons get such an outing.

They are freaking awesome.

I owned precisely one dragon (well, and one hydra now I think about it) before Bones, from close to 20 years of being a miniatures fan. Now I own. Um. Those two plus I think six? All of which are from KS1. I have never been able to afford dragons, and now they are ten gosh darn dollars. They are cheaper than lunch. For anyone like me, who always wanted to plunk $60-$120 on something amazing, but never quite could? IRRESISTIBLE.

[MOD] Please try to keep this thread focused on the KS. While we all love a good yarn, Character and Campaign discussions should go in General Fantasy. Thanks. [/MOD]

And, finally caught up on this beast. You all have been an excitable, chatty bunch,

Aww (understandable), but I had such nice gaming stories concerning some of the monster minis we discussed in the past day.

Short versions then:

On the Tarasque: how we sent it to the astral plane with a random Cracker Jack prize.

On Gelatinous Cubes: how we lost our invisible thief who explored on his own and walked into a clear cube. We wandered by that same room, saw nothing and continued on our merry way.

On Kobolds: my Pathfinder monk got killed by a kobold. A raging 12th level barbarian kobold... who rolled a critical hit.

On Mimics: we encountered an intelligent amnesiac mimic in the shape of a large door, who truly believed it was a magic door into somewhere. Walk through it and it ate you without realizing it. We carried it with us.

I'm glad I don't like every single stretch goal. I can't afford to like them all. :;):

But, I also don't see a need to complain about them. I might not want it, but someone else does. That means more backers, more money, more stretch goals.

Keep on, Bryan!
