are they saying Canada has to pay the same as Australia etc?

No, I think they mean "actual shipping" to be the actual price they are charged by USPS/whichever company for the shipping. So Canada would be less than Aus... presumably.

Yeah, I think it was all the taxes and other stupid penalties that prevent reaper stuff from getting to Canada in an orderly fashion.

I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper than Australia. I hear they have a 400% tax on gaming supplies and the shipping thereof.

But at least it means they can buy whatever they want this time around. Didn't they have a five item limit and then $25 each additional item last time?

In at 1999 of 2000 for early bird shipping.

Found the update page:

as for extras (as of 350k) : Need Ratmen & dragon, want dark lords, pass kracken, mouselings

I have some of my budget left for further (or multiple) add-ons from stretch goals.

okay. Place holder set with wrong credit card. Hopefully I will have as little difficulty sorting this out in the end as I did with the robotech kickstarter, once I have access to a different card, and I can use this one for add-ons instead. I hate doing things this way, but alas, what can I do?

$7.8 million is the current kicktraq estimate.

It looks like reaper has broken kickstarter. I haven't gotten an update emailed after number 2.

I'm guessing they turned it off so we don't get a thousand emails. Or else KS does it automatically so it doesn't get marked automatically as spam.

Hmm here's to hoping the $1 pledge for us al a carters doesn't suck.

Im in for $1 until I find out the international shipping, and find out how much money Ill have spare.

I think Ill be more than happy with my options. Ill be happy even if I just get the rat men...

I think they're likely going to wait until near the end to clarify shipping costs, since they have no way of knowing how big the final core pledge boxes will be. Given how crazy fast it's moving right now, I'm thinking it's gonna be big. :bday:

Also, "free" gorgon and chimera is a sweet and unexpected development! Treat indeed! :D

Oh, and Reaper said in the comments that they will be shooting a "for scale" Kracken pic when things slow down a bit.

EDIT: Ooo, those bases look amazing!

Huzzah!

The kickstarter is capped at 6500 backers. At minimum pledge, that's $600,500 only.

At an average of double pledge, that's $1.2M, which is probably where this will settle.

One of Bob Ridolfi's sweet little undead monsters from earlier this summer.  I tried some grey skin tones to give her a "definitely not human" look, with the contrasting pale yellow funeral dress.  It's all right, and there's nothing you need to be concerned about here....

Got my Reaper Bones V goodies a bit ago, and slapped some paints onto the Pumkinhead beholder.  I used Citadel Wraithbone primer, contrast paints, and Army Painter Matte varnish and...  months later it remains slightly tacky.  It's not...  awful.  But it's enough that if I put it away in a box with other minis, I'm afraid it won't mix well.  I've left it out in the sun for a day, thinking that might 'bake' the stickiness out of it...  It did not.

I got Reaper Bones because I figured I could paint, varnish and throw into a box with all my prepainted minis.  Some of my older bones remain slightly tacky too.  But I figured that with this new round of Reaper Bones, they would have got that figured out.  I've painted up the undead giant, but not yet varnished him and I'm afraid to!

I've read the various Reaper Bones help threads, many of which are very old (and one sent me to Facebook, though it looks like it's no longer available.  I don't do social media anymore, so not sure?).

Does anyone have any advice to help a guy out?  I'm pretty sure I shook my rattlecan varnish adequately.  I do live in western San Francisco and wonder if the humidity (fog, it's often cool and misty regardless of the season) may affect this.  I try to wait until the weather is clear.

What are you doing to keep your Bones stickiness-free?  Any advice you might have would be helpful.

Update 3 Nov 21: over time the tackiness was getting worse; I could no longer pick up the model for fear of leaving a nasty finger print...  (In particular, the elements that had GW's "Nurgles Rot" technical paint for some reason reacted really badly, and were quite gooey!)  But I finally got a pot of Testors brush on Dullcoat/varnish and it worked like a charm.  The figure is no longer tacky.  If that changes, I'll come back to update again!  🙂

Hi all, just thought I'd share a couple images of my first Reaper mini painted up. It definitely seemed strange not priming something before getting started (typically print my own lately in resin, so have to prime those), but I wanted to try one of the Reaper products.

I am by no means a pro, but each mini seems to get a bit better - constructive criticism welcome - I know I need to get a better photo setup sometime - maybe when the basement reno is done 🙂

Next up is Boerogg Blackrime the Frost Giant...I love doing monsters so they're on-hand when needed for our D&D campaigns 🙂
