Bones Kickstarter #2 Discussion

You are thinking of Warlord Pingo. Warlord is a war game put out by Reaper and they create the minis for it. They are really nice. I don't know where the rules for it are sold though.

Like Pingo I play mostly RPGs.

Warlord is a great game. After the kickstarter, buy a copy of the rules from Reaper, and go crazy. It's more addictive to me than a kickstarter. Every time I look at a model, ANY model, I think of its' Warlord potential. Hear me now, listen later.

Warlord seemed fun based on the small number of demos I played at ReaperCon, but, to tell the truth, I have enough trouble recruiting players for the wargames I have now, without adding more. Skirmish level games have proliferated like crazy in the past few years, and Kickstarter has only been fueling the trend.

Of course, I would still love to get a copy of the latest Warlord Rules. I collect rule sets for... reasons. Yes, definitely there are reasons. Probably.

You might want to create a new thread just for your most excellent Warlord list; it would make it easier to update, and for folks to find it. :)

I considered it briefly, but it has been asked about enough here, that I think it is probably appropriate. Also, since the hard work has been done, I can easily reference back to the older posts. The rate at which I need to update is pretty low, so I won't be spamming the thread with posts about it. It should be pretty manageable.

I say keep it updated as we go in this thread. It is relevant. Then make a new thread later with the completed version and that should be stickies in the Warlord section of the boards.

Since I wasn't able to check out the KS comments since last night, I'm now over 2,000 comments behind, so I think that's it for me trying to follow everything being said there

Having said that, and I believe there's others in the same boat, I appreciate having the thread split here and for those posting to try their best to keep it one of the few threads where we stay on topic as much as possible. Ironic, I know.

Thanks all.

Ok, I really need to stop watching the kicktracker, and looking back at the kickstarted page every few minutes. We will get what we will get, and it will grow by the end. A watched pot never boils.

Maybe I just need to block the website until 3 days before the end. So I can be surprised at all the cool stuff I'm getting!

Right now, it's like watching paint dry.

Hey, at least it's Reaper paint! :poke:

But yeah, the next two weeks will feel really long. It has nonetheless moved faster in the past two days that I would've expected.

We might even get the next reveal by the end of the week.

Set yourself a Quota, 10 F5s of the KS or Forums per Miniature painted.

If you use up all of your F5s then you have to go paint something before you can refresh again.

Some more bits from the KS comments:

~~~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 11 hours ago
Pirates, we have some. Weresharks we can neither confirm nor deny, albeit without much conviction.
~~~~~~~~~~

@Reaper How tall is Verocithrax and do you think he'll have issues staying up in the bones material?

Reaper Miniatures about 15 hours ago

@Joe Carey - he's about 9.5" tall, and we will be working with out manufacturer to reduce/eliminate performance issues.

~~~~~~~~~~
William Ward about 15 hours ago
Would it be possible to see pictures that show how the Heroes and Villains detach from the bases?
Reaper Miniatures about 15 hours ago
@William Ward/C. Fawcett: We are planning a model spotlight video to showcase things, such as that, that our photos do not do justice.
~~~~~~~~~~

That reply from Reaper makes me feel better about Verocithrax. Also, holy cow is he tall! :blink:

Huzzah!

Looking forward to the model spotlight video especially for the figures without a metal analog to look at. I have made most of my decisions on what I want so far but additional images or video could still sway me.

Not htat I want Reaper to incur an extra expense - but that would be an incredible miniature if it did happen.

Wanders off into daydream land.

Just wait until we unlock the Gauth goal. He's even taller, IIRC.

I can't wait for Big V to get unlocked. I only picked up the undead dragons (and Cthulhu, of course) in the last KS.
