edit to add: Also, I agree with you on "things I wouldn't have normally bought," which is why I'm going to wait until I have all my Bones in hand before I investigate the trade threads. Sure, I may end up too late to the party to get the best deals, but I'd rather that than make a bargain for a mini I later find I want.

Can't say I like these new minis, but I'll get over it. I certainly hope that they are saving the best stuff for last, like the anhurians/militiamen, frost giants, etc for later.

Anhurians sound like they're DOA - Reaper Miniatures (the official account, so I don't know if it was Bryan, Ron, Matt, or the office cat) said they weren't even on a sticky. =/ This could be a double-blind (they're not on a sticky because they're on the spreadsheet, firm for the next update!) but I doubt it; it sounds like they've written them off.

 

We may still get generic guardsmen/bandits/mercenaries, but it doesn't sound like they'll be the Anhurian sculpts... which makes me a sad panda. ::(:

So I'm up to about 330, if I get two core sets... I decided pretty early on that I wanted to get two, since I have a little sister (Just turned 13, *squee!*) who has been showing interest in painting... she's always oooing and ahing over my tiny 30-piece bones collection (I found bones about a month before the new kickstarter opened, made 1 100$ order, and was going to make another before I heard about it & started saving.)

 

I figure I'll give her all the human mults, and then the second set's 24 bonus monsters, as well as whatever else I don't need two of. The shark-dude is perfect for me, so - I'm not giving her my brass bull/chimera (if I can I'm ordering another two sets or so... all for me!) but this guy? I need one, sure, cause he's awesome, but... him & the spare swamp troll are perfect - not so cool I need to hoard them compulsively, but awesome enough that she'll love them. And even if I give her half of the sets, I'll still come out ahead - I want two of at least ten or eleven of the sets, so I'd be spending ~100$ to get them piecemeal, and this way I'll get multiples of the core animals too! To be honest, that's what makes this whole thing crazy for me - It's such a ridiculous deal that even if I chop things up for parts, I won't feel too bad! :blink:

 

Now I just need to see if I can squeeze two of the Narthrax dragon - initially I didn't like him that much, but now he's all I can think about - I SEE HIM IN MY DREAMS, with those huge... gorgeous... WINGS! ...I may have a problem... Did they change the angle on his picture, though? Cause I remember thinking he looked a bit derped, initially... But now he looks awesome.

And I don't need mouslings. I'm not even sure why I want mouslings. I can't afford mouslings. I'm on a budget; I need playable minis.

 

I'm down for three sets of mouslings.

 

I think Kickstarter broke me.

Why the heck wouldn't they want to do the Anhurians and other militiamen types? They're doing enough other small minis.

Maybe their sales data for them in metal says they don't make sense to do in Bones? I've always said that the Warlord Mercenary grunts all looked like "city watch rejects", perfect for militia use, yet I don't recall them being great sellers either.

 

Total conjecture, of course.

Pretty easy; I made more than a half dozen trades in the last KS.

All depends if people are interested in it - and - reaper allows us a trade thread (which I hope they do) - I setup a TON of trades (all successful once we agreed and finalized them, a couple people backed out, but that's OK, nothing shipped) and I didn't hear or know of a single bad trade instance (well, I did incorrectly send a mini, but once notified, fixed that problem - he was happy).

 

I collected a lot of people's sci fi minis (and now I'm having them painted up as "armies") so that was cool for me, this time around, I really don't want the sea critters, so I'm not sure how it will turn out for me (little motivation to trade)
