Bad omens are good omens?

I see the Bones total arising.

I see pledging under way.

I see giants and dragons.

I see more Reaper Bones today.

Don't go crazy tonight,

Well, it's bound to take your budget,

There's a Bones total on the rise.

I hear trolls aflaming.

I know the end is coming soon.

I fear plasticrack over flowing.

I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

Don't go crazy tonight,

Well, it's bound to take your budget,

There's a Bones total on the rise.

All right!

Hope you keep your pledge together.

Hope you are quite prepared to pay.

Looks like we're in for many minis.

One charge is taken from your card.

Don't go crazy tonight,

Well, it's bound to take your budget,

There's a Bones total on the rise.

I was bored whilst watching the total grow. It was better than concentrating on the F5 key! :)

I did a search and couldn't find a thread for comparing the 2 Kickstarters, so I thought I'd start one. I'm interested in seeing people compare the two Kickstarters both in terms of quality and size of the minis included, and also in monetary value. I'm not an expert so I don't have much to say myself, except that I believe the Vampire level of Kickstarter 1 came with 241 miniatures and it cost $100. As I write this, I think Kickstarter 2 is offering ~138 minis, with hopefully a lot more to come.

(I had asked that this thread be moved the proper forum, and it was done)

Keep that up and I'll go find my ballad, "A Slow Boat From China (All For To Play With Bones)."

It's somewhere on the site.

I left my filk back around p. 107 of this thread, where it went by uncommented.

Prolly just as well.

Comparing them on a mini-mini basis is a mug's game. I mean, 36 of Bones I were small monsters previously available at retail; only 24 of the current ones were previously available in Bones II, and eight of them are slightly larger than man size.

the mods will move it, they love having a squeaky clean board.

value wise the first one got you more mini's per $ but they also scraped by pretty tightly on some of the extras so It seems they learned their lesson and are not breaking the bank in this kickstarter.

This has been touched on, but remember too that while Dungeon Attack was pretty great, those rats and goblins and kobolds were all TINY, and not as detailed as most of the rest of the Vampire kit. This time, the multiples of existing sculpts are MUCH LARGER and significantly more detailed (bugbears, gnolls, flesh golems, mummies, and 2 large bugs). Those bugbears and gnolls are probably.. what, 3 or 4 rats/goblins/kobolds worth of PVC each? The same goes for much of the rest of the KS. We've already got a pretty significant number of "Large" figures in the Core set, and likely many more to come.

You seem to be comparing the "value" of the base set for the first Kickstarter at its final value with the current "value" of the base set for the second Kickstarter.

If you want to compare the first and second Kickstarters, you should compare the two based on either the final value for both or the equivalent point in both Kickstarters.

Ayup. The first Kickstarter exploded in the last couple of days, which is where a large portion of the 'value' came from. But the bottom line for me is this: if I put in $100, do I get value out of the reward? Even now, with a few weeks to go, the answer is 'yes!'.

Is the deal better or worse than the first? That's kinda beside the point. The point of the Kickstarter is to jumpstart the Bones production line and get more figures released in my favorite medium for painting. That's worth $100 of my monies even without the stretch goals.
