Bones Kickstarter #2 Discussion

My guess would be three-packs of each sculpt, like the skeletons. People are more likely to want a bunch of swordsmen than a bunch of a mixed bag in equal proportions, but Reaper is still trying to market them as mook-types, as per customer feedback, and so is unlikely to sell them individually. This would make them the perfect counterpart to the skeletons for non-undead people.

I am slightly disappointed the Anhurians are part of CE 2, because I can't add fifty extra sets of them to my order. Sure, I can akways use more cavalry, but adding more CE 2s would break the bank pretty quickly...

I'll just have to wait for retail to build my Anhurian army. They'll be much more affordable in Bones than they are in metal (and their metal prices are pretty good - $14 or 15 for four).

Anyone care to speculate on how they'll be marketed? Individually, like Garrick or the dark orcs? In a variety pack of four, as they appear in the Kickstarter? In three packs (or more) of each individual sculpt, like the Nova Corp. troopers or pre-KS 1 orcs and skeletons?

This is another reason I think infantry in a Exanpsion is a mistake. I think Reaper would get more money if they broke them up and allow us to buy multiples. .

EDIT: I dont think I know anyone who would want only 4 infantry units for an army...

So...thinking about dropping to a $1 pledge to part out the core set (lots of figs we already have in metal...).

I haven't seen this answered: given the versatility of the pledge calculator, can we just hang on to out current pledge (for a core set), but allocate that $100 dollars differently once the project ends? Or do we have to change the reward selected on KS?

I assume we have to change our reward selection, given the number of people I've seen doing just that, but I wanted to make sure the question was definitively answered before deciding.

As long as you pledge >$100, you can keep your pledge level and just get $100 worth of add-ons.

Somebody asked and was told yes can just use it to pledge whatever you want and was even told that it wouldn't affect your shipping date (so if you are early bird #1 you would not be affected about when it ships).

Try to find it in this thread! It's there somewhere! I swear!

Having said that, it is still hearsay as far as I am concerned and I would be pretty dubious about the shipping date part and wouldn't expect to keep my place in the cue. But then Reaper constantly surprises me with their ability to treat people like individuals and to do things to make people happy, so who knows.

Well, I'm excited. Those are some nice cavalry and even though I have no need for them, a dwarf on UNDER a bear is worth $50 of my money any day.

with just that small change, I'm in for the expansion as well....

Was pleasantly surprised to check the kickstarter this morning.

I like a lot of those new paint colours, and the new expansion set so far looks good. Pledge will have to be upped once we get them unlocked.

Or should I pledge for them now in hopes it will help unlock them? hmmmm

If everyone waited until the end of pledge things that they hoped would be unlocked, there would be alot less unlocked. Come on, son.

Meh. Someone over on the Kickstarter comments said he's using the pledge manager as a popularity contest, clicking "10" for the minis he likes most and wants to see more of down to "2" for the ones he likes least.

It's not a miscommunication. He seems to know what the pledge manager is *for*. He just wants to deliberately skew things towards what he wants to see more of.

It strikes me as unethical and condescending. Surely talking to Reaper using words is a better way to communicate one's interests than gaming what is meant to be a helpful calculator.

Actually reaper has said that they tend to not follow alot of the comments and use things like the calculator for hard data. Doesnt mean they dont listen but they go by what is going to be best for business and in business there is no such thing as ethical.
