was it specified on any post whether or not the Calvary were going to be separate from their mounts?

 

The original bear rider is one piece (with weapon sprue) so I don't see that being different in plastic. Sir Danel is two pieces, rider and mount, so the plastic one might come that way. Count Lorenth is also in pieces. In short, don't expect the Bones to be significantly different than the metal versions.

 

OTOH, Bones have often been different in the past. Different materials require different molds require different divisions. It is possible that it will be easiest to cut them in the same places, but we can't assume that they'll necessarily be the same.

True, but I imagine cutting a mounted figure under the legs would not be the most efficient or simple of tasks.

 

I suspect the only way one would have a separable mount and rider is if they were sculpted separately to begin with.

Does anyone know if there are already-existing non-mounted figures that correspond (needn't be identical) to the three mounted characters at the start of Expansion 2?

That is, are there non-mounted minis for Ursula the dwarf, Sir Daniel, and/or Count Lorenth?

I just noticed something odd on the Pledge Calculator. When I "reset all values" to zero, the Calculate comes up $10 (+8.69 shipping = $18,69).

I tried to add the Core set and the result was $110; other combinations also were $10 too high.

 

Am I the first to notice this?

Needs less core set expansions and more dragon options. It'd be awesome if we got a stand-alone dragon option comparable to the size of Nethyrmaul this time around... (I've said it before, but I'm willing to say it again)

Ursula is the only one with a true unmounted equivalent. However, you could probably find analogous figures for Danel and Lorenth without looking too hard. Just check out the other figures in the Cursader and Overlord factions (respectively) in the Warlord line.

Ursula looks good. (odd that I missed her earlier, obviously my search fu is weak)

 

The other two are just the separate, but sculpted-for-being-mounted, figures, so they don't really meet what I'm looking for. I'm hoping to identify non-mounted versions that I could paint to match, so they could be used for the character when the character isn't mounted. (I'm definitely not skilled enough to chop off torsos and put them on other minis' legs...)

 

Hopefully they'll be created and added to this Expansion, but if not, I'll keep hunting for which ones would come closest. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!

 

EDIT: Warlord line, Crusader and Overlord factions. Cool, I can do that! :)

It just occurred to me that since that "Heroes and Villains" add-ons include detachable bases, that means separate moulds for each section. That will likely increase the per unit cost of the retail price, won't it? It has been my impression that the more separate pieces the more expensive the Bones mini becomes. I could be wrong about this since it is just speculation on my part.
