I haven't seen Buglips or Last Knight post yet after the update either here or there, better put yer ear plugs in... ;p
Last night was like Christmas morning for me... :)

I'm like Christmas morning for everyone. You forgot the 'k' again, by the way.

And I'm quiet today because I'm working; I'm working today because I saw the update while I was snoozing my alarm and going back to sleep, and felt this odd, pressing need to get eight hours of holiday overtime, tout suite.

I am slightly disappointed the Anhurians are part of CE 2, because I can't add fifty extra sets of them to my order. Sure, I can akways use more cavalry, but adding more CE 2s would break the bank pretty quickly...

I'll just have to wait for retail to build my Anhurian army. They'll be much more affordable in Bones than they are in metal (and their metal prices are pretty good - $14 or 15 for four).

Anyone care to speculate on how they'll be marketed? Individually, like Garrick or the dark orcs? In a variety pack of four, as they appear in the Kickstarter? In three packs (or more) of each individual sculpt, like the Nova Corp. troopers or pre-KS 1 orcs and skeletons?

For myself, I'm praying that they either add more of the same guys in future Expansion 2 unlocks or offer an Anhuripocalypse like last years orcpocalypse.

Just a few random thoughts.

Several people (Reaper peeps and artists/sculptors) have teased about all the awesome new sculpts still hidden in unrevealed stretch goals. What will happen to these sculpts if they aren't reached/revealed? Will they be done in metal? Will they be secreted away until Bones III: The Bones Ultimatum?

 

And the rest of my thoughts disappeared... maybe they'll come back to me.

I think the value of this kickstarter is greater than the first one. Reasoning:

 

First Kickstarter was $100 for 240 miniatures or 42 cents per miniature. With a lot of those numbers increased due to familiars, rats, kobolds, goblins, and bugs. (Over 50 of them).

 

Second kickstarter is currently $100 for 147 and 50 bases (ignoring any goals we have not unlocked yet), that is 68 cents per miniature. There are still promises of more purples, so the price will be around or lower than 60 cents per miniature. This time around, we have more medium/large creatures. 65 cents per miniature if you include Mr. Bones and Under the Sea miniatures.

Hmm. I'm undecided on that. I want them, and in bulk, just not sure I want double digits to drop all at once. I'm up to my fangs in orcs right now and it's... a lot. A whole lot.

 

But if they add it, I'll probably buy it. Let's face it, at this point they could probably just sell me bags of unprocessed plastic pellets and tell me they're build and paint your own Bones. And I would buy it. And show it off. And claim loudly, even after being strapped to the gurney for my journey to Bedlam Mercy Hospital, that said bags of pellets are real Bones figures. Real Bones, I say. And they will all see, all of them will see! Once I manage to pick the lock on these straps and escape from Ward 4, they will all see!

Indeed they were. But it seems like those are existing sculpts which they'll port over to Bones.

I'm talking about all the "exciting" and "awesome" new sculpts they keep teasing us with.

EDIT: I dont think I know anyone who would want only 4 infantry units for an army...

To be fair, there's only 4 there *right now*... we don't know yet what else is in that expansion.

I think at this point enough of the plan has been revealed for people not to complain that the beginning of a new goal is not worth the asking price.

 

Wait until the end, then complain.

To be fair, there's only 4 there *right now*... we don't know yet what else is in that expansion.

 

My guess is the next ones will be different armies. 4 of each perhaps but at the end you would have 4 minis of each army. this is kinda how I see it unfolding so that they will be able to cater to retail later with army packs.

I am intrigued at the idea of comparing them with some kind of equal ground.

 

Something like:

Small = 1/2

Medium = 1

Large = 2

Huge = 3 or 4?

etc.

 

Once we assigned a point value like that, we could compare how many "points" KS1 had as free stretch goals and how many as add ons. We could then compare to current KS2 numbers and adjust as more is revealed.

 

I realize that this will not work out perfectly, but it is an interesting thought exercise.

 

This is a really interesting idea. Maybe we could do it as a Google Doc or something.

Female werewolves, too, and female minotaurs and goat-headed beast critters and other lycanthropic types.

 

I am particularly fond of this one, although she is kind of big, more ogre-sized than human-sized.
