I'm comfy that for as long as Reaper wants to continue making kickstarters, people will continue to back them. It's a great example of "pretail" (or maybe, super-pre-orders) that delivers a product that fills a niche, namely, cheap high-quality minis.

 

So y'know, if you wanted to make a third $2M kickstarter I'm sure we could find supporters somewhere.

I just wish I had more cash to put in up front..

 

 

Yeah. I'm pledged in for 400, but I'm facing the unenviable possibility I may have to knock that back or on end day the card will scream. I'll be doing everything I can to avoid that. A pledge is my word, and this goblin always keeps his word.

I'm quickly approaching my max pledge as well, so even if more cool stuff comes out, I will have to either reallocate some of my add-ons, or wait and add the money via pledge manager after the fact, which I hate doing, because I'd rather have the money front loaded to increase the add-ons for everyone else.

That reminded me of one hot summer christmas morning when I was little, my dad trying to light the barbecue coals with his welding torch.

Last year there were snacks, cake, and Bones to paint. This year, it is also coinciding with their artist conference event, so they might have completely different plans this time around. I, for one, will be there to find out.

Does anyone else think that Expansion Pack 3 will have a Gazebo and a Terrace as part of the stretch goals?

I think the countdown party pretty much is the public side of ArtistCon. As one of the artists, it is the only public event that I am aware of. Which is not to say that we always get filled in on everything, but unless something has changed, I wouldn't expect more than that. I can't imagine Reaper people have time to plan much more than that since the Kickstarter itself is consuming so much time and energy from everyone down there.

 

I believe the party will run from 12-6, and Ron mentioned refreshments on the KS comments, so yum! I suspect there will be at least one cool looking cake. It'll take place in the Reaper facility, and if you've never been there before, it is very cool to peek behind the curtain and see where the figures are made! There is also a game store attached to the facility, so you'll be able to stock up on any figures, paint, etc. you might have on your list.

 

I don't know exactly what they plan for the artists. My guess would be that we'll either be down working at the same tables as all of you who come out, or upstairs in our usual work area. Either way, we'll be accessible for you to come check out what your favourite sculptors are working on (including seeing some of the Kickstarter stuff in the green, I would guess), and get painting tips or critiques from the painters, and just generally hang out and joke around with us and stuff.

 

I wasn't there last year, but I suspect that they will have the Kickstarter page displayed on monitors so we can all keep track while we party. Maybe Shak can confirm? Last year they did little short videos of people at the party and posted them on the website, which I enjoyed watching so I could sort of feel like I was there.

 

 

Im still waiting for this reaper....but ill settle for a Bones version....

 

I'm not sure what you mean about still waiting for this one? I'm just checking if you mean you're waiting for it to be available via metal in retail, because it is available. I realize you might have meant waiting for one you ordered or a replacement you need to be mailed to you, but just wanted to double check.

I'm happy to see new and different stuff in these core expansions. As a fantasy buff I won't partake in the CE #3, but I'm happy that Reaper has decided to offer these other niche additions to the people who like that stuff. A big kudos to Reaper for listening to their fans/backers in regards to trying to keep most of the genre-specific stuff together and adding stuff people have been clamoring for.

 

My only critique (NOTE: not complaint) is that I wish they'd have done a little better job with keeping the genre-stuff together in the beginning of the KS. Like making them specific add-ons or including into specific core expansions. I'm not interested in the chronoscope, deadlands, or steampunk stuff, but at some point I think I might be able to trade it away on a different site when I get my pledge rewards. I'm just extremely happy to be able to get such high quality minis for so cheap (also paints!) that I might just break out the funky white guy dance.

 

Overall, I think this KS has been a giant success and I wish Reaper continued success with it as we move into the final days. I hope they break more and more records and get more and more backers for their amazing product lines. I've been tossing out tweets every day or two to try to drum up more support from fellow gamers, miniature painters, and RPG enthusiasts. I hope everyone else on this site is doing the same

Sure, if that is the only way to get more kobolds, why not.
