Bones Kickstarter #2 Discussion

I think it might actually be "good guys" - a bunch of knights, angels, and other typically good creatures. Maybe not 100% good... But I think the catagories will tend toward 'good' characters, at least.

At first, I was debating two sets of 2e, because it promising & I want to be able to do good and evil knights... I want at least two devas to paint, so if I have the cash, I'll probably get two now. And extra anhurians? Ngggggggh....

And I actually will get the E3 just for that TARDIS. I don't need armored spacemen...

Unless I do a Doctor Who-themed game, in which case they will populate my spacebase.

Think about it - shipping crates, weapons lockers, army men... that gives me plenty of fodder for a Whovian game. And Angels... So many possibilities! I need more! SO MANY IDEAS!

Any suggestions for system? I usually do fantasy in 3.5, but this might actually convince me to go sci-fi. Reaper, you sly dogs, you...

If you're used to playing D20 anyway, give D20 Modern a shot. It's pretty simple, fun, and with the right expansion can handle a lot of genres.

@ Reaper . Just wondering.. is the dungeon Decor II add-on doing ok, or just kinda tepid?

Reaper Miniatures about 2 hours ago

@Coraline - it's quite popular. Although, to be fair, the spread between the highest selected add-on and the lowest selected add-on is small. Like, the best ones are doing the completely made up number of 20,000 copies, and the worst are doing the completely made up number of 16,000 copies. Similar spread.

I am liking expansion set 3. The whole Chronoscope line is full of figures that could be used in a time travel game. And Sascha Dubois is a very passable time lord chaser with Smedley Cloverdash as her masterful arch nemesis. If only there was some sort of object that could be used as a camouflaged time machine. Something inconspicuous like a call box, except they don't have those any more. Hmmm who would ever expect a shipping container? Shipping containers seem ubiquitous in every major city and some of them seem so old, that they might have been around back when there were call boxes.

It would also help if they added some passable companions to go on adventures with Sascha Dubois. Some nerdy school kids or maybe a 19th century British colonial officer or a cold war spy. But where would they ever find anything like that?

I don't remember, did you sculpt all of it? Or just the stagmites? That bookshelf is pretty rockin', I'm totally going to get several of them when they come out in retail. That and the bed, because beds seem to come up as obstacles an awful lot in the campaign I'm in right now. :)

Just FYI, if you are looking for some additional variety in your beds, Hirst Arts also has one on one of their recent Inn Accessory molds. While I'd expect that you'd not necessarily be interested in casting your own, you could probably find someone with the mold that could cast you a handful at a decent price. There are probably even some available on eBay.

We totally need a Bones Container ship to go with this.

...and possibly a Bones diorama of Shanghai harbor, complete with rampaging Kaiju.

I know this is ages back, but my internet kept going out this morning and I just went to bed before catching up in the thread...

Anyway, a few nights ago I actually did have a dream about a kaiju attacking a cargo ship with shipping containers on it. I cannot verify that the kaiju was trying to get its supply of Bones.
