Hello fellow Boners! First post here. Just wanted to hear if there has been any talk about the CAV Line getting Boned?

Just read in the KS comments that is a negetive on the CAV being in this KS...

Are you talking about the Not-Balor?

Which of course I would think people would understand that the Balor and alot of D&D lore is based on LOTR. Edited by ladystorm

On the subject of weird looking demon lords, the boar guy is a Nalfeshnees (formerly Type IV Demon), and the wolf demon is a Not-Glabrezu. Both of them have been in since 1st ed, so I'm liking that I got some awesome models for them! And in Bones!

Well damn. I've looked at the picture of the Glabrezu in the 4e monster manual tons and tons of times. But when I saw the demon lords, the first thing I thought was "Well, there's no way that will match up with any of the D&D demons."

So sell me on the Greater Demons, then. Is there a winged goat demon in D&Dthat I'm not remembering? The guy on the left is a fairly generic demon-type. Someone compared him to the Balrog from LOTR, and that's enough to get me interested in him.

He looks like a Not-Orcus to me. :poke:

And the Glabrezu in the 4e MM does look more like the 1st ed. "canine headed demon". I think maybe where some of the confusion comes from is that the DDM Glabrezu looked less canine like.

But I just took mine off the shelf and lo and behold he does look more canine than I had thought and does look more like this. (Aka the 4e Picture), and the 3rd ed image he is based on looks more canine than I remembered, now that I look at it closely enough.

So at first I was thinking the new bones version was a little too wolfish, but looking back at the prior sources, I think he's right on target.

I like how Orcus start out all fat and now that he got on jenny craige. hes like " WHAT?! IM RIPPED BIATCH!

The not-Orcus seems to have something gripped in his left fist; perspective makes it look small, but it could be a rod or mace of some sort.

Just so we are clear...if you are talking about the new Balor in the KS...thats a whip... Edited by ladystorm

Winged Goat Demon - Orcus. The guy on the left is a Balor.

So he is OLD Orcus, the one before he went on a diet that includes steroids.

Thanks for the link, it saves me from dragging all the books off the shelf all at once!

Oh no problem. I was curious as well. I knew I had seen it somewhere but couldn't place which demon lord he was. Now that ReaperBryan has told us he's the old Orcus we can all grin and get ready to toss him out at our players if we are gamers.

Yes, the balor has a flaming whip. The dude with the goat-face and sketchy wings seems to be a not-Orcus and appears to have a club-like object in one hand.

As for the Glabrezu, this mini is the first time I've looked at a representation of the description and thought it lived up to the hype. Even the glabby in the Infernal Minions KS was disappointing to me...it, like most of the glabbies I've seen, seemed more comic than terrifying. This thing in bones, though...that would frighten a PC.
