Bones Kickstarter #2 Discussion

Recommended Posts

I am hoping the sophie model ends up something that fits the feel of gameplay miniatures. It would be a cool character to add to an RPG or wargame proxy, with her wings, she'd make a cool Legion Everblight warcaster or solo for Hordes. A lot of the other sophies I see seem too posed and pin-up style, more like ornaments for someones desk.

That's because most of them are. I know I keep mine in a glass display case.

Ok. I have to have Mashaaf. Just so monstrously awful and terrifying. And at the sametime I am sad knowing that she won't come to the table in my family adventure. She would send my youngest girl physically fleeing to her room to hide. And it would be months before I could get her to comeback to the table. But one day, I will DM a game where she will rattle the bones of tiny heroes, and players will mourn the deaths of a beloved adventurers. Yes I say...... one day...

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

there aren't many figures that make me want to cackle meniackly, butthis one does.

You think *that's* crazy?!

I want to have Mashaaf, put some lipstick on her and a flower hat and have tea and crumpets with Sophie.

Mashaaf is not just a worm abomination deity from the great beyond. She's also a well-mannered lady with exquisite taste.

And I don't want my goddaughter to run away from my minis.

Hell, I'm tempted to get two or three of Mashaaf. She's such a dynamic, interesting sculpt. I can easily see her being worshipped by a huddled band of humanoids, chipping away at flint to form arrowheads while muttering "I'm sure the ancients are wrong. There's just no way that humans could ever have been dominant over the mighty Kobold Empire!"

Its a 54mm I think though...but this would be cool to have a smaller version

It is not 54, it is 28, and on the smallish side of that...

Oh ok...I just assumed because I went over to Miniature Gaint to find the picture and their price was $18.99 so I just assumed it was bigger. Perhaps that was because its limited edition.

Trivia: Sophie was almost called "demon slayer" instead of "troll slayer" but since she is a succubus it felt wrong to slay other demons, and since there was this pledge troll....

Troll slaying is more fun anyway.

The name fits her perfectly, and given the shenanigans with pledge trolls, it's also perfectly fitting. :) Sophie looks more than ready to lop the head off of the next person to bother her!

Huzzah!

What is the pledge troll?

This person who kept upping his/her pledge to unlock stuff, then backing it down to re-lock it.

ReaperCon '04 Reclining Sophie is currently $84.99 at Miniature-Giant. Gotta really want her. ::): She was available for a single day during Reaper's 12 Days of Christmas promotions in 2012 and 2013 as I recall (free with an order). I know that's how I got hold of a couple copies. It was also one of the Sophies in the set sold during Bones KS 1 and in the set of five released at ReaperCon '09(?).

Hello everyone, I'm currently working on an Ogre gang and completed the painting on this model last night. This is a 77455, Ogre Smasher sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I swapped the top of its club with that of the 77454, Ogre Clubber. I also added three more skulls at his waist belt. it was all painted with Reaper MSP paint. I will complete the base later since I may add more elements to it.

Just a random assortment of the first painted from Bones V.  I sort of cheated...my Kickstarter arrived yesterday but I borrowed these in advance from a friend who got theirs earlier.
