Reddit threads are up, but flailing.

The thread on /r/DnD barely made the front page; it has 6 votes. The other two are succeeding rather well though, and most who sub to /r/DnD already sub to /r/RPG.

 

General consensus across the threads seem to be a few things:

1) That the Core set has fewer miniatures than last year and is therefore less of a deal.

2) That the amount of still-unpainted Bones from KS1 has people apathetic towards a new horde of plastic.

3) That the "snowball" effect is working in reverse (few people pledge, which means fewer reveals, which means few people pledge, etc) and this means there's no "Party Train" to board like last year.

4) That they've already pledged and are commenting just to extoll the virtues of Bonesium

It's cool that these threads are promoting the KS! However, I wouldn't call the consensus statistically significant given the low number of respondents. Just my $.02...

About dropping to just one reveal; I think this would possibly be the worst time for it. I hope they reveal a big amazing OMGZ core goal first, then start revealing just one after that is on the horizon.

If not I expect even I will stop reading KS comments for a while :P

Sophie is frequently limited edition. Will awesomeness-with-a-sword Sophie be available after the KS? Also, what I really need is a succubus with a bow.

Loim, they posted in the KS comments that none of the minis in this Kickstarter will be limited to just the KS.

 

 

ADDED:

It was around 10AM-ish iirc Eastern if you want to try and wade through the back comments. Personally, I'd just wait for Oneboot's Reader's Digest version of KS comments.**

 

 

** And I just want to say thank you for doing this. I tried to keep up this morning, left to take my son to school, and in the 15 minutes that passed about 500 posts went up. Thank you!

In terms of value, the core set looks fantastic.

 

In terms of overall value, m'eh. People have different opinions. I didn't think expansion set 1 worth the $$$ until the last reveal and I'm still bouncing on what my final pledge will be due to personal finances.

Originally, I had planned on NOT partaking in this KS. I spent over $300 in the last one, grabbing all the dragons and a ton of other add-ons. I see this KS go up and us blast through all those goals, I see all the awesome new sculpts and I just HAD to have them. I'm in for almost as much now as I was last time... I have a feeling that if things keep going the way they are I'll be in for MORE. I still have sooooo many minis to paint up from the last one, but that won't stop me from adding to my collection™! Keep pledging my friends!
