What update is this? I cant find this one. However, first rule, if Bryan is yelling at you...YOU are wrong.

I think the "update" that unidentifiable meant is OneBoot's latest digest. I think this is the grumpy Bryan part, but honestly none of his responses seemed that gruff.

I am glad that they are cutting back the reveals on the expansions. The switch from 3 stretch goals for the complete first expansion to 6 each for two concurrently running expansions really soured folks, as well as doing serious and irreparable harm to the momentum of this project. While trying to get all of these unlocks for expansions, there has been exactly one full (non-trick) unlock for the core in the past millions dollars, without the next one even in sight. KS 1 was lousy with core unlocks during that same funding period.

The core is how you draw in backers. You make the deal just too darn good to ignore. Then, when you hook em, you get them with the add-ons. The problem is that while this core is great, the core for Bones 1 was PHENOMENAL. With all the add-on this, expansion that, and add-on to the expansion those going on, they just ignored the core. Remember, this KS started out gangbusters, and has just been flat ever since. With better core support, they could have ridden that momentum to ridiculous heights. I think Reaper just looked at the success at the tail end of KS1 and just assumed it would be the same, without really appreciating why there was a mad scramble to pledge.

It was because the core of KS 1 was just too good to pass up, and once people were in for the core, they were happy to add more. This KS needs more core support, and it needs it now if they want to build up crazy momentum again. Right now, the tail end of this project is trending way behind the tail end of KS 1 (despite everyone who says so being called a troll) and I'm pretty sure Reaper knows it.

@Jeff Khoury - interesting analysis. We respectfully disagree.

This Core set represents the same monetary value - if you measure value only in terms of quantity, then we welcome you to fond another way to get 150+ models for $100. Otherwise, we are offering $500 MSRP of models for $100, JUST LIKE LAST TIME.

Thank you for telling me what we assumed and didn't, and please do not put words in my mouth.

I should also add that at 68 hours to go last time we still had not even raised @ million... so your math and premise are already flawed.

Ok - If people re done telling us how we have failed at Kickstarter and that 150+ minis does not in fact represent a good value... \

Seriously - if all you want to do is tell us that this @2.25 Million dollar project is a miserable failure, please go tell [email protected] (the CEO) that I was mean to you and you'll never back us again etc.

You guys wanted to see Bryanzilla... Here I am.

Innnnnnteresting. Unsure if I need them or not, but I certainly like 'em.

I wonder if there are any homebrew rules for a XCom tabletop game floating around >.>

Also - definitely considering firing up the ol' Expedition to Barrier Peak with some of these figures <.<

Ok so, we have this AWESOME worm creature...then we get a suprise over the top Sophie....Best mini just by the concept art. (assumeing that a Tarrasque doesnt jump in somewhere....)

Then this...am I the only one scratching my head...I mean was there alot of call for these "greymen"? I mean yea sure Robots I would have totally understood and have even rooted for...but greymen?

Does any else feel thats a bit lack luster for the sci fi section? I dont know maybe its just me.

It's not just you. They also don't come across as the kind of army that really requires more poses than, say, the IMEF marines.

If I had to guess, this is Reaper shoulder-checking Mantic into a row of lockers while they pass in the hall.

If I had to guess I'd say these were selling better than expected in metal.

Oh yea see I didnt even know they had those in metal...dont search for the sci fi stuff often. but now that I think about it they would be cool for a Xcom tabletop game.

I'm a bit surprised at the push for the greys in Bones, though. 3 for $8 doesn't seem too pricey in metal, but I see the kobolds went from 3 for $6 to 6 for $3.50.

(They aren't in the top 50 Chronoscape rack.)

I'm just gonna let them sell it:

      Story
This Kickstarter campaign is intended to expand the Going Native line of models. We have a lot of new models sculpted and ready to be cast, along with scores of newly designed models that are ready to head off to the sculptors. We are doing a lot of new things with this campaign than we have done with earlier campaigns. So lets get started -

      Rise of the City States
In the Americas, as in Europe, powerful states would rise out of small chiefdoms or towns. These states were mighty cities with formidable militaries often lead by savvy and charismatic kings, queens or princes.  While we will stretch beyond this from time to time, the City States will be the main theme of this campaign.

      Physical Products
Unlike Kickstarter campaigns, all of my models and kit Physical products and not printable files. The vast majority of my models have be hand sculpted and classically cast. This campaign is very much a celebration of craftsmanship. Man sized models are planned to be spun cast in metal. The larger than man sized models will be cast in resin.

It's shiny. There's a guy riding a giant starfish. How can you go wrong with that? >.>
