Ok guys, I did it. I took a guess on all the sizes and added them to the bones website I made. (http://www.bones.kgdcraftermath.com/)

onyx, you seriously rock!

That's some truly great and impressive work!

Concur! Now I can calculate how many bases I need based on how many of each set and adjust my pledge accordingly. Thanks!!!

Beep Boop

Can anyone confirm what size of base I need if I want to base the following:

The PF Red from KS1

Narthrax

Blightfang

Cinder

The Chimera

The Armored Aurochs

The Swamp Troll

The Bullette

The Fire and Frost Giants from KS1

Do I need Huge (3") or Gargantuan (4") bases? Debating getting an extra set of Huge bases, since I'm also picking up the Hill Giants. I've been basing everything on fender washers, but since Home Depot doesn't even stock 3"+ fender washers, I was going to have to buy something from Michaels and it's likely it was going to cost me ~$1 per base if I bought wooden discs anyways.

Jar lids from the kitchen make good huge and gargantuan bases. I'm not knocking Reaper's bases; they look great. But peanut butter and jam and baby food and pickle lids come free with the jars.

The lids from frozen orange juice concentrate make good bases too, with no sharp edges, unlike can lids.

Woot! Just got an open early bird! I gave up a 3rd wave if anyone wants it.

Congrats. I switched to wave 2 earlier on. Never see EB open up usually, but I am contact with holding down Wave 2 as it is still early enough in the process for me. I might be able to finish painting the rest of the minis including the dragons in time this way.

Or not. Either way it will keep me with enough minis.

I'm with you on most of those suggestions Pingo but I ain't eating baby food just to get the jar lids.

You're thinking about this all wrong.

What you need to do is get yourself a baby and feed it the stuff, then you keep the lids. Easy peasy.

What you do with the baby after you get enough lids is your business.

I hear goblins like to sell them to witches...

Don't get me wrong, I will totally do a digest if people want it, I just want to be assured that people want it/will read it, because it is going to be one HECK of a long post if/when I do. And if more people would have a tl;dnr response to it than not, there's not much point in my making one. ^_^

Huzzah!

--OneBoot :D

I've read each of the other ones and would read this one if you do it. And I suppose it's too late to say, "Don't! Do! Eet!"

So, hey, thanks. ^_^

Vikings didn't have horns on their helmets!

*Does a Grumpy Scandinavian Sulking pose* :poke:

Hate neck-breaker helms. Hate 20 kg swords.

So I require all of you to stop buying miniatures that have them.

Right now.

:;):

No, really.

This episode of OneBoot's Digest brought to you by Dragonforce.

"Dragonforce: For when your world just isn't epic enough."

(I found their sound and fury to be a beautiful counterpoint to the KS comments. I don't even recall physically reading anything negative! ::): )

EDIT: Forgot to mention, this is a SUPER DUPER HUMONGOUS GIGANTIC DIGEST POST!

Gager 15 minutes ago
@Reaper - When can we expect to be able to add the 3" bases, barbarians, etc. in the pledge manager? Is that a tomorrow thing?

Reaper Miniatures 14 minutes ago
@Gager - tomorrow. Right now everything but the Barbarians at least has a front-page price so you can manually calculate the extra cost there.
~~~~~~~~~~
Ivan about 5 hours ago
@Reaper Do you have any indications of how much would the additional 3'' bases cost? I would like to add more than one set. Thanks
Reaper Miniatures about 5 hours ago
@Ivan - $10. Expect them in the Calculator soon.
~~~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 5 hours ago
@James gemmell - yes, *everything* we are funding is intended to be sold at retail after fulfillment.
~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 5 hours ago
@Zoroaster - one of the things people asked for was smaller, easier, faster goals. we did that by putting fewer things to fund, like x1 Burrower, X1 Sophie etc.
~~~~~~
Kirk Foote about 5 hours ago
I like bases as they are useful, but they are a but underwhelming compared to things like landsharks

Reaper Miniatures about 5 hours ago
@Kirk - that's why we're making the goal so small. we know it's a divisive item.
~~~~~~~~
MB about 5 hours ago
If guys from Reaper are still around, or if it was said earlier and someone can answer; will we get new pictures of the Burrowing Horror if it's finalized before the end of the kickstarter?
Reaper Miniatures about 5 hours ago
@MB -at the soonest available opportunity.
~~~~~~~~~~
Michael Lawler about 7 hours ago
@Reaper - There is a photo of an incredibly large spiky thing being circulated.. but it is rather indistinct.. any clues as to what that might be?

Jarrett Messing about 7 hours ago
@Reaper How big will the Mushroom King be? Will he have an option for a scepter?

Reaper Miniatures about 7 hours ago
@Michael - what photos? I am unaware of us putting up anything recently...
@Jarret - No scepter unless you add one, He;s "large" in standard fantasy RPG terms.
~~~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 6 hours ago
Where were these pictures?--- Facebook! I see now.... Clever Crow is Michael Proctor, one of the artists here for the finale party. I certainly cannot confirm any spiky things that may or may not be in any unauthorized pictures.
Reaper Miniatures about 6 hours ago
Also, Going to go speak with Clever Crow now about making sure his facebook does not contain any further unauthorized sneak peeks...
Reaper Miniatures about 6 hours ago
He's not in trouble! We're just going to ask him to be more careful... there's a lot of new stuff upstairs right now. We're sorry we sounded harsher than we intended.
Reaper Miniatures 19 minutes ago
We determined the Carbonite works better for freezing people than Bonesium. Clever Crow escaped...
~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 6 hours ago
@Rick - if Amazon Payments has any problems, they give you up to 7 days to correct it. Failing that, we will accept you via the pledge manager after the fact. I do not actually know (because it never came up) whether you would qualify for the KS rate....
~~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 6 hours ago
@Doremicom - if you have a valid pledge, no matter when you add seelctions, you will pay the prices shown here. ONLY those who DO NOT PLEDGE and try to "join" later will pay the higher rate.
doremicom about 7 hours ago
@Reaper - So since I have pledged during the kickstarter, I can add things at the price set during the kickstarter if something else gets added to the a la carte orange selection without the 125% cost?
~~~~~~~~~
doremicom about 6 hours ago
@Reaper - sorry for the clarification, I'm sure you've been answering this question all day long.

Reaper Miniatures about 6 hours ago
@Doremicom - whether I've answered it 100 times or not, for you it is the first. We value all of our fans, not just the ones that ask first.

(this response made me happy; Reaper is so awesome. ^_^ )
~~~~~~~~~~
ShadowRaven about 7 hours ago
@reaper. Will i be able to bill stuff to a second, or third, or fourth credit card after the initial bill? Right now my group is together on the pledge on one credit card, but I may add a few extras for myself latter,
Reaper Miniatures about 7 hours ago
@Shadow Raven - the the best of my knowledge, you can at most pay twice - Once in 50 hours, and ONCE when you lock in your final selections before Dec 31, 2013.
~~~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 7 hours ago
@Jenn the Human - people with a valid pledge will pay the same for a reward whether the money is input now or later. People who do not pledge now and sign up after the project is completely closed will pay ~125% what is shown here. We have verified with Kickstarter that this is allowed.

Cerity "Legendary Bottlejak" Silverhawk about 7 hours ago
Thx coralline, ryan... Musta seen something else. we decided its guath as the green in the ruins right??
Standard size appears to be 60 sq ft, and well at least 15 high... Wingspan hasn't been fully shown

Reaper Miniatures about 7 hours ago
@Cerity - She's not Gauth

( :down: )
~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 7 hours ago
@Roakor - KS will bill your pledged amount within hours of project end. Any funds added after that via our PLedge Calculator will be billed when you select LOCK, which is an option that does not yet exist, as we are not yet done.
Reaper Miniatures about 7 hours ago
@Jeremy - You can make changes at any time, increasing or decreasing the amount and choices until the project ends, and after project ends you may change it until you hit the LOCK button, although after the project ends you may only add to the amount, nor subtract from.
When things get heated here, take a deep breath and remember: for every minute Bryan and I have to keep an eye on the comments and try to keep things under control, that's a minute we won't be able to work on bringing cool stuff to the kickstarter.
Can't backtrack in your own timeline, you know. ;)
Bryan Stiltz about 8 hours ago
Here's my answer to the comments you are trying to squash. If people think $500 in minis for $100 is greedy, we cannot change their perceptions. Model count is not the only measure of value, nor should it be. $12 for Mashaaf is not greedy, but offering $500 core sets for $100 somehow is?
People do not have to like it, and they are welcome to find another way to get this many minis of this quality at that price. We are doing our best to offer new models, with high quality, in the format allowed. But you can't please everybody, and we cannot try. The best we can do is hope that everybody finds *something* they want to support here.
In the meantime, ALL of you need to treat ALL of our backers, whether attackers or supporters, with respect and consideration. We ask in return that we be treated with respect.
@Bryan: Are there plans in the works to see more sculpts of concept art prior to the end of the KS? I'm kind of wondering what that Water Elemental will look like sculpted. :)
Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@Jason - if we get it turned in to us by then, yes. If not, we will feature it in one of our bi-monthly post-KS updates.
~~~~~~~
Koroyosh about 21 hours ago
@Reaper: Is there a chance, i can buy the barrow wardens without the other models from Expansion Set 1?

Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@Koroyosh - at this time that is not in our plan. They will be available at retail after fulfillment for smaller, more personalize selections.
~~~~~~~~~~
Grum Thicklepicker about 21 hours ago
Bryan, are you ever coming up to CalCon here in Canada?
Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@Grum - I don;t have a passport or visa or whatever, but Id love to. The cost is probably prohibitive seliing up there though, with vendors permits etc
~~~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@Duane - we are pretty sure it's a variant of the same basic vinyl, but haven't asked. It might have more/less plasticizer (and thus a higher or lower durometer ((bendyness)) We're not sure.

(for the life of me, I can't find what question it is that Bryan is responding to here. He was extremely sleepy, though, so he could have mis-typed the name)
~~~~~~~~~~~
Jason Andersen about 21 hours ago
@Bryan: Wow, is she really that big? As in, Cthulu size? For some reason she seems smaller in the pics...
Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@Jason - yeah, about the same. No legs, so shorter, but the greens weigh really close to the same.
(definitely assuming this is referring to Mashaaf)
~~~~~~~~~~~
Brandon Reed about 21 hours ago
@Bryan anything planned bigger than the ruins?

Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@Brandon - Yes? No? Hard question to answer. I think it's *technically* smaller than the ruins...
~~~~~~~~~~
Cleanthes about 21 hours ago
Bryan, can you suggest what Mashaaf might cost retail? I'm trying to decide how many I might genuinely use on the table.
Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@Cleanthes - $45-60 Depends on if we can blister her or have to use a fancy box.
John Olguin about 21 hours ago
$45-$60 msrp is more expensive than Cthulhu, he was $40 msrp
Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@JOhn - maybe $40 - I;m sleepy and my calculations aren't reliable... $40 sounds more realsitic, actually.
~~~~~~~~
Jason Andersen about 21 hours ago
@Cleanthes: That's a good question. I was just thinking about that today - I wonder how much more people would pledge if they knew what the retail prices would be before hand (and could see exactly how great of a deal this all is)?

Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@jason - we thought about that, but our MSRP are estiamtes right now - we were only off by $30 out of $500 last time, so our esitmates are pretty good, but we don;t want to be lying to people. Still, Core's worth about $500 MSRP already, because it has so many fewer rats/kobolds/goblins and more Bugbear and stuff.
So many fewer? I;m getting sleepry
~~~~~~
Jason Andersen about 22 hours ago
@Bryan: Follow up question (and then I'll get my mind in the gutter like everyone else): I heard a rumor that if you are at the $1 pledge level, you can simply pledge $100 and get a Core set. In that case, would I need to pledge $101? Just wondering. :)
Reaper Miniatures about 21 hours ago
@Jason - yes, $101. The calculator requires that extra $1 at the $1 level. If you aren't in an early wave, the $100 might be better for you, it automatically selects one Core Set, but you can manually change that to 0 Core sets and spend that $100 on other selections.
~~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 22 hours ago
@Sean - We've always had 3 plans - the likely, the explosive, and the slow. And at various times, we've had to use all 3. The slow lasted about 2 days longer than we had expected, but it's picked up nicely and we're confident. But the goals were always built with the idea that we could make adjustments behind the scenes in response to the numbers over there >>>>
~~~~~~~~~
Bane172 about 22 hours ago
@Bryan Any chance we will get to see what didnt make it after the KS is over?
Reaper Miniatures about 22 hours ago
@bane - unlikely. It would only make people sad.
~~~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 22 hours ago
@Sean - we had planned the Expansions to be flexible. We expected a slow mid-weeks, which we had and we planned for that Now we're in the upturn and have a plan for that.
~~~~~~~~
Reaper Miniatures about 22 hours ago
@marcelo - We're already the #1 and #2 Tabletop Games Projects ever... We're very happy.
~~~~~~~
Nrak about 23 hours ago
Imo, they should regroup the remaining reveals of expansion #2 and #3 in one reveal for each expansion.
That way it would save time and boost the pledge money, otherwise we are going to keep struggling.

Reaper Miniatures about 23 hours ago
@Nrak - we are going to compact the reveals of Expansions 2 & 3, if that helps. Not all at once, more than the original plan. We just don; think of it as struggling... but we do think alike ;)
~~~~~~~
Frencois 1 day ago
@Bryan Izzy did not answer The question yesterday : is Mashaaf squeeshable enough to swallow all another Mashaaf? How many time can I pile up that?
Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Frencois - Bones does not compress that easily. But the Real Mashaaf has eaten hundreds of herself.
~~~~~~~~~~
Daekwan Kim 1 day ago
soo... where are the crown jewels?

Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Daekwan - we wanted a simpler pledge system uncluttered by rewards like those - if you have $400, rather than a Green, we want you to have $400 in minis.
~~~~~~~~~
Aaron Gomez 1 day ago
Oh in regards to the calculator...do you guys pull data from it even now? I'm curious if it's being used to track what's in demand from us backers. I've been trying to keep mine up to date just in case it is...
Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Aaron - yes, we do.
~~~~~~~~~~
Jackson Starky 1 day ago
Checking in for the first time today... is it my imagination, or has the map been shortened? I realize we're into the final three days, but that's no reason to play revisionist geography. Just make the stretch goals cover more distance on the map. :-) Unless that's more trouble than it's worth; I don't know how the map coding works.

Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Jackson - if we need the space, we can extend it. But this way it looks less daunting.
~~~~~~~~
Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Pete Day - yes. The Calculator tool will magically transform into a manager where additional funds may be added.
~~~~~~~
Kyle Kohlhaas 1 day ago
@ReaperBryan - contrary to the previous comment on the Heroes and Villains bases, my question is whether they are intrinsic to the mini or are the base and mini two pieces?I like the minis but an not sold on the bases.

Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
The base and mini are 2 pieces.
~~~~~~~~~~
Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Baph - we do metal exchange, but have never discussed a Bones exchange.
~~~~~~~~~~
Ryan 1 day ago
@Bryan, love the bases in Heroes and Villains. Is this something Reaper has considered doing more of? I'd love it if bases like these could be sold separately.

Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Ryan - Right now, no, but scenic bases have always done well, so it;s something we'd love to explore.
~~~~~~~~~
Loim 1 day ago
@Bryan I'm sure this has been asked, and answered, but I am not really up to digging through all the comments. Will the Troll Slayer Sophie be available after the KS, or only during? Thanks.
Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Loim - not Limited release. She's going to be a regular mini.
~~~~~~~
Chris L. Taylor 1 day ago
@Bryan
What are the odds of getting the Arachno assassin 6 armed skellies in bones? Either now or at a later date? I am going to get some but it would be better in bones obviously. I am wondering if the plan is to convert all Reaper lines to Bones eventually.

Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Chris - they've never really been popular enough in metal for us to perceive a strong continual demand in Bones...

Baphomet 1 day ago
Devil's Advocate - I think that's one of those 'too expensive in metal, but I'd buy a ton in Bones' things (i.e. Anhurians)

Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@baph - a lot of time goes into deciding whether the low sales are 'too expensive in metal, but I'd buy a ton in Bones' OR low demand in general.
~~~~~~~~~~
Wally 1 day ago
@Bryan - Any plans for more machines like from the first kickstarter?
Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@Wally - yes. Molds first though. Before we get a second machine we need to really be using our current one at full capacity.
~~~~~~~~
Jeremy Mayr 1 day ago
@Reaper Speaking of crowd funding issues. I've talked to a couple of shop owners very recently that have adopted a sky is falling attitude toward KS projects. One on the largest shops in town is concerned that KS will drive him out of business over time. Is this a commonly held option and what is your two cents?

Bryan Stiltz 1 day ago
@jeremy - We are constantly hearing form retailers that they cannot keep them in stock, and on our website, they are over 30% of our sales. We see a huge demand, and our perspective is that the stores should become KS portals - hey, we as a store will back this, and let our customers in in one or two or three pledges, we (the store) get to sell it, and you pay for it through the store, so we (the store) become a vital link in the chain, and a necessary part of your customer's interaction.

(please don't go into a discussion regarding retailers and kickstarters (there's another thread for that somewhere, I think); this was only included to show Reaper's side of things)

Thanks Pingo, not a bad idea.

Just a FYI thing, but insofar as I can tell, 3" fender washers run 5 for $20. With onyx's size chart, I'm going to sum up my Huge base needs!

...

Hey Onyx... noticed a few mistakes

"Maashaf, Size: Medium"? :blink:

Sorkar should be Large

The Goroloth should be Huge

I think the wereshark is only Large(?)

The swamp troll has no references, tough to say...could be Large or Huge

The Deva may also be Huge, not sure...her base looks the same size as the Hill Giants though.

The Gnolls and Bugbears, from my experience, are all Large. You can try to cram them onto a 25mm square base diagonally, but their toes are going to hang over the edges.
