Who else plans to magnetize the figs on DDSII for easy swapping?

 

To all the 'gonna go broke' posts.

Do that many of you folks really hover that close to poverty? If a couple hundred bucks is make or break, then it's time to start saving,

 

To all the "S.O. is gonna kill me posts"

Maybe having a talk with that special person is in order. Ask them if they's rather have you drinking at the bar or painting minis. Even a big haul like this can be small compared to a bar tab.

Wow, I made it to the end of the thread! I'm really happy with the way this has turned out so far - I really like the core set and just about every add-on. Same with expansion #2 - I can see every one of those minis making it to the table, though Reaper had me at bear rider. It was nice to have it broken up into expansions, since I loved everything in #2 and a smaller percentage of #1 and #3. It's been a fun ride.

@Ladystorm: Those adventurers' bases look like they're totally separate from the diorama. True?

I don't get people who say this is not as much value as KS1. Maybe I'm high off paint fumes.

A modular castle is great for scenery / final epic battle etc etc. Brilliant. I hope we see more of this sort of thing from reaper in the future.

Now, I am not going to tell you that you are wrong, but there are people who are concerned that miniature collection is hoarding, there are people who say, just built a house and spent waaaaaaaay too much on upgrades, then there are people who think miniatures are not a good (insert noun here) and there are people who have significant others who have expensive hobbies or little time on their hands.

 

All of these situations apply to me.... and I put in over $400. :/ Granted I already broke the news... at 300, 400... but now there is DDSII.

 

I wouldn't worry about these people, they know already what they are in for. If I were really going to eat kraft dinner for six months to fund my bones addiction, I'd write a blog about it.

the adventurers are not attached to the ruins.

there are no assigned places for them.

they are quite interchangeable with any of Reaper's figures.

 

(I'm sitting next to Bryan and Matt as they handle updating KS comments and other social media and that kind of stuff. I'm happy to answer what I can over here. Just be patient with me, there is a lot happening in the room...)

I'm being facetious in my "My child doesn't need daycare" or my "My car doesn't need brakes" posts.

 

If this truly were a hardship, I wouldn't do it; but I'm able, so I pledge what I can.

 

EDIT - and holy cow, we're up over 2.8M...I think we're gonna hit Tarrasque for sure; I'm nervous about DDSII; but if this rate of increase continues, I think we'll all be partying pretty heartily this evening!

Hey, thanks Reaper for giving me what I asked for a while back on the Bones You'd Like To See thread!

 

- Big ruins (one side more wild/natural and the other side more built up/wall-like so you can flip it around depending on what you want to show, sculpted so it can double as a cave or dungeony entrance, and perhaps designed to be modular so you can rearrange the component parts into a couple different basic layouts)

I have been forgoing Frappacinos and bagging my lunch since Gen Con because I've been saving for this. :)

 

Though I tease about my sweetie, It's mostly teasing. He would rather me put the money towards clothes, retirement, paying off student loans, iPad mini 2, or etc. But as long as I will use them, and it's from my own budget, it's only teasing. :)
