Aw, man. Did I miss more shenanigans? I'm really happy with the end of the Kickstarter. Don't think I'll pick up the spider, but I'm sure there will be lots with use for it.

 

Had a blast keeping up with everyone through that last week. Some great people were involved in this.

As far as the Kraken or spider, it is my guess the kraken will be more expensive than the spider later, just a guess.

 

I am going with the spider instead of the kraken because the probability of me throwing spiders at the party are much more likely than encountering a kraken. They have encountered spiders 4 times now, especially now that they fight goblins more often and the goblins have spiders with them. The spiders scale walls and leave webs for the goblins to climb while the spiders attack guards and the goblins come over the walls.

I'll probably end up with the Kraken as a display piece later, but the spider is more useful to me. Probably going to use it as a not-Shelob for Lord of the Rings among other things.

Yeah, Warlord is a hard game to get a group for. They havent done the marketing that Warmachine and 40K have but I have heard the hardcore wargame guys mention that they pay it with friends. I think I am going to have to do the same, build a 4x4 in my garage and find some folks on Meetup, luckily Florida has a huge gaming community and I have a big garage and like building stuff.

A garage, in FL? Do you love the heat or something? You could melt bones in there 9 months of the year. I am in St Pete BTW.

I lived in Pinellas Park for 27 years ... hated all of them weatherwise. I think you could melt them 11 months of the year...

 

It definitely has not gotten any cooler. Where'd you move to??

I"m on the Kraken's team! I'm in this for the fun of painting, so Kraken wins =P Secondary use is my husband using them in his D&D game and he told me he didn't want a giant spider =P

Need to get a few dragons too. Right now we have the core set, DDS2, the kaiju, and mouslings (mine!). Need to add Narthrax, the gelatinous cube, cinder, blightfang, the spider, and the thank you pack. Ack, need more money!

 

Anyone want a cat? She's really sweet and cute, won't jump up on your table while you paint. She can be yours for a mere $50! (expansion pack 2...)

P.S. The Goroloth has as much in common with a Kraken as a Filth Beast has in common with a Giant Spider.

They are ABSOLUTELY the same. They both have tentacles, and live in the water.

 

 

so they're jellyfish! =P

 

Because, clearly, the Tiamacrab has no tentacles!

 

 

Tiamacrab is too cool for tentacles. They are SO last century =P Pincers are in this year!

I knew there was competition getting in to the market - and Reaper/Paizo were the 800lb gorillas for plastic minis (more Paizo than Reaper). We offer similar but different things, it comes with the territory. Back when I started DCMs, Reaper was making pre-painted minis, but they stopped - so suffice it to say that the market could be even harder on this little guy than it already is. :S

 

Congrats on a spectacularly run KS Reaper - I hope to be able to do a fraction of what you did here in the March 2014 with DC!

 

Either way, I'm just glad to even be a little guy contender! :D

I had already maxed out what I could spend this month when the Highland Encounter was added but make no mistake it to shall be mine in post KS purchasing next month!

Let's see, we have one-sided quotes, random "facts" with a limited connection to reality, and a complete misunderstanding of the situation. Seems like typical journalism to me. Just remember when reading "news" that the same thing happens when you don't have inside information.

 

Was it incompetence or malice? Who knows, though incompetence is probably the better bet.

 

Doesn't much matter though, since it's the same misinformation either way.

The husband just now tells me that I can use my birthday money on this now. Meaning I can get the worldender, the thank you and dds2. Problem is He hates the dragon in dds2 (I'm questioning is awesome dragon tastes.) I might just get the dragon and adventurers....but those ruins...............they temp me.

The thing is, I think Tre Manor's Red Box miniatures look really nice.

 

But the miniatures he does for Reaper are my absolute favorite!!! His Monstrous Humanoids are brilliant.

 

I would love if he didn't do stuff in the 20mm scale though.

Oddly the article didn´t say anything about the "Mars Attack Kickstarter" that was running along with Reaper´s and the complains (not many) reached the Comment section of both KS.

 

(just to make clear, I don´t think there any in there to make so much stir, but then I do try to be as GOATest I can)
