Bones Kickstarter #2 Discussion

My mom already tossed in on this and already is looking at a hefty build. She got in on Wave 2. She knows a few add-ons are definitly happening. So far mouslings are in as a way to induct my nieces and nephew into painting minis. I'm drooling over them as well and it looks like I best step up my painting of the last KS, but I already have several minis from that started or finished. I usually can finish 5 a week if I focus. 2 a week if I am distracted. I have not painted in a week though due to working on school stuff.

I'm thinking that if the giants were $10 and those Demon Lords are $15 they must be huge.

I got a feeling the addon large figures will be closer to retail this time around for the most part vs the huge saving for the core pledge

 

Actually we had some over retail last time with the addons so I'm going to be VERY selective on those.

 

There was one add-on that ended up being more than retail, Forces of Nature, and it was only a dollar more. It is pretty safe to assume that they're going to be consistently cheaper from the KS.

Stuff still on my shopping list:

 

Pathfinder non-Iconic sculpts. Nyrissa, Horned Hunter, Kiramore, and practically all the NPCs are absolutely amazing sculpts that would be great in Bones.

 

More Aminals. Need a Boar, Dire Bear, duplicates of the Bones base set (ie multiple Wolves, Bears).

 

Could use a tall Treant. The squat one from KS1 Forces is okay but he needs a buddy.

 

Cavalry...or a Bones Cavalry Token (with a 1" square on the back for your PC).

 

A Druid Circle or standing stones.

A couple thoughts about this KS vs. the last...

As I write this, we are at 7,350 backers for $790K. Clearly, today's pace is not sustainable over the duration of the KS project. However, the idea that this KS will fall short of the last one is... laughable, I think is the word I want.

 

I'm sure there are a handful of people from the last KS that figure they have enough figures now, and won't back for that reason. There may be others that were unhappy enough with shipping, the QC of a few figures, etc, that they won't back either. But there were also nearly 18,000 backers in the KS, and many more that added *after* the KS ended via the Pledge Manager. There were even more that missed out entirely. I see no reason why the total number of backers for this KS will not be higher than the last. In fact, the sheer fact that we have over 7 thousand backers now primes the campaign for an even *bigger* push at the end, as the opportunity to build "grass-roots" networking is so much further ahead this time around. I don't think $100K/day during the "lull" between now and the end is out of the question. With today set to easily clear $1M, 20ish days of $100K/day would sit the campaign heading into the close at $3M or so. Million-dollar-plus are not only within the realm of possibility in the final 48-72 hours, I'd say they are *likely*.
