Bones Kickstarter #2 Discussion

Could use a tall Treant. The squat one from KS1 Forces is okay but he needs a buddy.

 

 

You have good ideas, but after reading this, all I can think of is "Laurel and Hardy" Tree-men.

A couple thoughts about this KS vs. the last...

As I write this, we are at 7,350 backers for $790K. Clearly, today's pace is not sustainable over the duration of the KS project. However, the idea that this KS will fall short of the last one is... laughable, I think is the word I want.

 

I'm sure there are a handful of people from the last KS that figure they have enough figures now, and won't back for that reason. There may be others that were unhappy enough with shipping, the QC of a few figures, etc, that they won't back either. But there were also nearly 18,000 backers in the KS, and many more that added *after* the KS ended via the Pledge Manager. There were even more that missed out entirely. I see no reason why the total number of backers for this KS will not be higher than the last. In fact, the sheer fact that we have over 7 thousand backers now primes the campaign for an even *bigger* push at the end, as the opportunity to build "grass-roots" networking is so much further ahead this time around. I don't think $100K/day during the "lull" between now and the end is out of the question. With today set to easily clear $1M, 20ish days of $100K/day would sit the campaign heading into the close at $3M or so. Million-dollar-plus are not only within the realm of possibility in the final 48-72 hours, I'd say they are *likely*.

Knowing what I do now about Bones and how KS works, both of which were new for me last time, I'll be increasing my pledge to the final amount over the duration as more gets added. Last time I wound up having to throw in like $150 or more after the fact. This time I'll put it to better use before it closes.

 

So right now, I'm probably only 1/5th in out of my likely final amount.

I already know I'll end up spending $250-300 at a minimum, but I'm only in for $100 right now. At some point this week, I'll honest up and change to $300 just to make sure that my dollars count for stretch goals.

Ok, quick question, and I'm sorry if it's already been answered, I skimmed the first 5-6 pages and didn't see anything....

 

Is there a limited number of 'slots' for this KS? I.E. once the ones on the KS page are gone, that's it? Or will there be more opening up with later shipping dates?

 

I backed the first one, and I want in on this one, but I haven't finished going throught the couch cushions for spare change....

I don't like the Core Expansions because I prefer thematic groups, but what do you guys think?

 

Maybe if they had CE's which were thematic so the wargamers could have an instant army??

 

EDIT: Whoops -- they're gonna add more stuff to the expansion as the KS continues. Bryan's not the only person who needs sleep. Experiment, away!
