All of this talk made me realize I still had a credit from the small omission from the KS1 shipment...I went and got a few things, and then realized I only had a little more before I got free shipping...let's just say I filled in some of the things I failed to get from the extras of KS1...damn it all Reaper, I wish you weren't so freakin' awesome.

Oh dang...that just reminded me that they sent the figure I was missing, but not the single part of a larger figure that was missing. I may email them in 28 days or so.

re: Shipping

Theres been a few estimates posted here, but I think they were bit suspect (in particular, I think a few people used the USPS calculator but didnt notice the little link at the end to bring up non express shipping costs).

For the record -

My Bones 1 pledge was Vampire, Kaladrax, 3 paint sets, and 7 other add ons/extras. It weighed about 4kg and came in a box 37.5cm x 25.5cm x 24cm. According to USPS calculator, the online retail rate for non express shipping would cost $68 to ship it to me here in Australia (Priority mail international).

The vampire box by itself is 1.44kg and measures about 37.5cm x 25.5cm x 12cm. The USPS rate to Australia is $30 (First class international).

Presumably Reaper gets business / bulk discount rates which will be slightly cheaper than the retail prices.

Really trying to cast a critical eye over the addons, but even so I can already see myself in for an extra $50-$60.

I'm also planning delivery/taxes/duty etc to cost me at least 50% of my pledge cost with a worst case scenario of 100%.

Try hard to manage both my expectations and my budget.

I'm really struggling with the "shipping added" aspect when I can get $35 free shipping once they go retail. If I order 4 addons costing $10 each and they tack on $20 shipping, then there's ZERO difference between backing their KS and waiting for the addons to retail for $15 each.

I've also been thinking about the additional shipping+duties/taxes that I will have to pay on for extra addons in my pledge order.

International (Canadian here) pledgers will have a decision whether to buy into the KS addons or buy them from the Reaper store afterward, which if you buy more than $35, get free shipping and often if you keep it under $100, it usually clears customs without any additional fees.

From experience, shipping+duties/taxes usually come to about ~35% of the value on a $100 order for Ontario, Canada.

So the costing question becomes, do you think the addons bought within the KS are priced at ~75% or less than what they will go for on the Reaper online store.

I think, judging from pledging in the previous Bones Reaper KS, that most larger minis & paint addons where definately priced 50% or below than what the ended up retailing for. Also, buying the KS addons within the KS will add to the total pledge values and thus unlock even more rewards resulting in value for everyone in free minis and additional cool options.

We'll have to keep in mind that Canadian backers might incur shipping+brokerage fees+duties/taxes of an estimated ~35% of the value you pledge for. So budget for that!

In my circumstance, I do think I will purchase many addons within the KS since I do think they will be valued higher in retail and I want to further support this Reaper initiative.

note: These are my experiences and guestimates being factored into a cost benefit equation and evaluation of the shipping concerns and not exact or applicable to everyone. Just my personal opinions on this topic for further discussion and opinion.

Anyone know the amount of miniatures you receive in the dungeon decor 2 add on?

My count is 13.

I think some of the columns are not separate. It's hard to tell. I'm guessing 9.

I sculpted these and can answer this, there are 8:

- Bookcase

- 2 Benches

- Table

- Medieval rope bed

- Large stand of 5 stalagmites (fits a 2" square base)

- Medium stand of 2 stalagmites (fits a 1-1/2" square base)

- Small stalagmite (fits a 1" base)

I desinged the larger stalagmites so you can cut them apart with out a lot of damage if you like.

Hope that helps.

Andy

I haven't been seduced yet. If all the cavalry figures from Warlord were showing, I'd think about it. There are some fantastic models however, and I'm sure people new to the hobby will score big. I've got so many of these in metal that I'd vomit if the plastic deluge darkened my doorstep.

Don´t worry:

- more animals

- more minions (mummy, ghast, spiders, bugbears, gnolls, skeletons)

- Dungeon Decors

- Centaurs

- Demons

- Gelatinous Cube

- Paints

- Kraken

- Mouselings

- Water Elementals

- Giants

- More Dragons

- Giant Scorpion

They were listening. Almost everything people ask are already in KS II,

And is the FIRST DAY!!

In Reaper I trust!

USPS does not offer discount pricing to anybody. To get cheaper rates you must qualify for different mail services - bulk is technically a rate but that cannot apply to parcels, only letters, for example.

Andy,

Thanks for the clarification and the great sculpts. I'm in for three of these....ok maybe four. Tables are so handy! And beds! And the bookcase is so cool. I need more $$$.

Thanks,

Heidi

Pretty surprised they're doing another one so quickly.

I'll say this one breaks $1,000,000 within 3 hours.

Well, that was a little optimistic, but not by a whole lot.

With the 50$ core expansion option, we might get a sudden surge and hit the $1,000,000 mark before midnight (Reaper Texas time)
