In for $100...

Oh who am I kidding? In for $300. (updates pledge). I can always dial it back a little later....

Thank you for being sensible.

I get quite frustrated with people who plege the absolute minimum, make the kickstarter drag all through the month, and then pile on at the end with what they really want to spend. We can hit so many stretch goals this way, and entice new backers... it will be glorious.

My issue is that I don't know if I can afford anything beyond the minimum until the end of the KS. I would rather pledge what I know I can afford now, then increase it later as I find things I want and know exactly how much I have.

I might up my pledge by $20 or so, as the water elementals look awesome...

Edit: Also, it's crazy to wake up to 10+ update emails for the first 48 hours of the campaign.

There will be a a way to tell after the Kickstarter ends.

Last time it was a pledge manager in which one could specify how much of everything one wanted.

edit: Ninja'd.

I was nine minutes ahead of you. Ninja, my arse; you been samuraied.

I see where you're coming from, but personally I can't say for sure how much I can justify spending in the end without seeing what I'm pledging for.

Last year I pretty much pledged for everything, even if I only kinda sorta wanted it. This time, I've got a wedding and honeymoon to save for so I'm trying to be more rational about which stretch goals I go for, so I'm not going to bump up my pledge unless it's something that I'm absolutely sold on. It could very well be that there won't be much else for the rest of the campaign that I want enough that I'd pay extra for it.

And yet Anvail Thricedamned came out as a limited edition miniature before the Bones first KS and was turned into a Bones figure. Initially made in resin specifically BECAUSE of the detail we were told. When I asked about it, I was told that the size of the figure made it a good choice to turn into a Bones figure because it was big. I suspect the price and limited nature of the figures is more of a "crap metal has gone through the roof" as opposed to reaper giving the fan base the big screw you but if that's the case, don't make it a limited edition model. Just make it a resin model and charge what the market will bear.

I think we need to be careful about what "Limited Edition" actually means. It does not mean "Will never be available in another format or different material or variant." It means "This edition, made in this material, that we're producing right now, is a limited run." Yes, you can get Anvall in Bones. That does not mean that the resin version is somehow no longer a limited edition mini. Unless they reveal that they actually mass-produced those resin LE's, and make those available to the public, the LE status of Anvall and the Kraken is not threatened.

Further to this, resin LE Anvall had a scenic base that the Bones version doesn't have.

I pledged my ultimate maximum of $300, but I'll likely be adding more later since some people in my various D&D groups want to join my pledge for combined shipping, also cause I scored an early bird spot. Woot.

10 update emails in the first 150 minutes of the campaign (and it took that long because Kickstarter's mail system crashed). I received the 19th before three hours elapsed.
