The thing frustrating me a little at the moment are the people in the Kickstarter comments who're insisting that Reaper's got it wrong and there's someway for them to provide free or cheap shipping to ROW backers if Reaper only looked hard enough / talked to company_00 / prayed really hard to the Great Pixy in the Sky.

It's not my problem. I don't need to get involved. But I feel like shaking them by the scruff of the neck and asking 'If it was as easy as you're suggesting, you don't think that maybe a company that has an existing international sales presence like, oh, Reaper, might have just investigated those options before starting the KS? Either give them a specific example of how they can save money by doing what you're suggesting or, with the greatest respect, you're being part of the problem'

The fact is that the whole "they would have investigated" is not something we can really sure. I mean, the Shipping manager is not ready yet, even when the KS is out. The forums where migrated in the middle of day 2. I´m triying to say that the Reaper people is not perfect, and is easy to see that maybe they haven´t considered all the options. In the first KS there was some whining on the "ROW backers are second class" that the actual unknown shipping is not helping. The problem is that the ROW shipping was underpaid for the backers on the first one and they have to change that, I´m ok with that. But even with that in mind, the "Actual shipping prices" is like "Yeah, free shipping for usa, not even a discount for you, ROW" and not even a official approximation on the homepage "we are making a shipping manager to make sure how much you would pay, until that, keep in mind this little table with the maximum you´ll pay based on the country and the core, just to have an idea"

And as always, at the end of the day, I´m not really worried. I wasn´t worried on the first one and my thoughts paid welll. The bones arrived and not a single problem appeared and I know that I can expect that this time also, but if something is true I can´t close my eyes and say "no, there is no problem here, everything is perfect".

I think thats being a bit harsh... I definitely agree that Reaper will have done their homework already, but the vast majority of comments Im seeing are polite and well meaning, just a little overly enthusiastic or optimistic. I dont really think theres "a problem" so far for them to be a part of.

Well intentioned suggestions and good mannered disagreements are fine, imo. It just means people are interested and want to help.

I like three of them, top left, middle, bottom right.. That's enough for me from a set of 5 figures.

My thoughts exactly. (Well, Im not 100% sold on the bottom right, but I certainly dont dislike it)

dang, the KS comments are really hating on the PF villains.

I hate it when people complain about free stuff. I don't know what's so hard to understand about a production kickstarter being give and take.

Like on the Characters vs. Monsters thread. I didn't want any more gnolls or bugbears. The first thing I got was more gnolls and bugbears, and other people had asked for them. I still don't suddenly need them, but I figure adding them is fair enough and the new sculpts look good.

And later... I got my Mountain Troll.

I get something nice I really want, somebody else gets something nice they want. Perfect win.

What's a good place to read up on fluff for all these Pathfinder guys? Rulebooks?

Estrus- there's a line of game 'fluff' books that describe the settings, but most of these villains are from the 6 volume adventure paths (horned hunter, whispering tyrant, etc). The Inner Sea World Guide is probably the best crib sheet.

I'm excited for pathfinder (although I will reiterate, my forum name I've used long before pathfinder was a role playing game), and have one of the hellknights in metal. They're prohibitively expensive to field a whole squad- so now I'll be able to flesh out a full encounter with them! I just picked up the captain in metal as well.

If they add grey maidens at some point, that would also rock!

Pingo: what's worse- fewer women, or more women of the 'cheesecake' variety: disproportionate, too much skin, and Fredrick's of Hollywood armor? Raising two girls has made me a bit sensitive; I'd rather have them under represented than objectified. Plus, all of the armored knights are really women (Brienne of Tarth ala Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones).

As far as I can tell, both of these KSs are win-win. Everyone gets something they want, and everyone gets a whole bunch of stuff they don't need, but can use eventually.

Feel free to add it to your signature. The URL is http://www.markshirestudios.com/images/ks_banner_bones_2_core_set.gif

Or if you aren't supporting Bones II but did support Bones I you are welcome to use my old one:

Exactly, and you can trade them/sell them/use them as statues/maybe even as corpses/casualties.

What I really like out of this Kickstarter so far is the additonal scuplts of the Bugbears and Gnolls, the new skeletons, the beast men, and the water/gelatonous cube. I think its funny because they are simpler, but I like them. If I get stuff I don't have a need for no biggy, butI have learned not to get rid of everything just because you don't need it right now. Theres a fine line where it becomes hoarding.

I like the new egyptian stuff as well, with that and the previous KS mummies thats a whole adventure!

I obviously have the totally wrong attitude about this. When I logged on to the KS page there wasn't much stuff up. I looked at what was up, and decide "Yep, worth it for me." Then I backed. Everything since then is gravy. I don't care for some of the core add-ons. I didn't care for some of the core add-ons from the first KS, but to my mindset everything after the initial core is "free." So what if I don't have any interest in cowboys, or aliens, or space marines? I'm pretty sure that I can find someone who does, and gift them with a few free minis. Or, maybe trade. My point is, it's "free."

Also, I love the PF villains. The number of new Bones that were on my list to buy in metal is amazing. I think Reaper is knocking this one out of the park.

I couldn't believe people were already complaining about the project going slow. I can only assume these were people who either missed the first one or were only around the last couple of days and thought that was the normal pace.

I agree. And I feel like an ingrate for bringing up the females thing.

The PF villains do look cool. And I'm grateful for all the neat figures Reaper is piling in.

It's a fantastic deal and a lot of fun.

Is it just me, or do there seem to be fewer female figures this time around?

Those Pathfinder villains are all dudes, and most of the monsters have been neutral or aggressively dudely.

I worry I'm being oversensitive about this.

So far that has been the one thing I am disappointed about in this KS. Thankfully it is something that can be easily reversed in a stretch goal or 4, but for now it's a really glaring fault.

It's a long way from over yet. Kristianna was added from Warlord, I was glad to see her. There's some nice crusader lady cavalry that might make an appearance if we get cavalry in this campaign. And the nun with a gun rocked my world.

It's heavily skewed right now, though. But some factors might be working here. Like with the mouslings. They might have eaten up a bunch of "dudes prolly don't want these" slots, so we get guys dressed like castles or not-Skeletors.

Anyway, I'd love to see some of the crusader lady cavalry show up.
