I think $2.75-4 mill is reasonable for this one. I would think fewer people will get the core set this time around if they already participated in Bones 1. The lower price per pledge this time around would indicate that a large number of people are either sitting on their $100 pledge, or just going for addons.

Now, if they unveil a tarrasque or something for the $1.6 mill expansion reveal, that could change things up considerably.

Stop making suggestions of things that I would throw money at. Please?

The one thing I want more than anything as a miniature for my game table is the Tarrasque. I might even pick up two! One to mod and play around with of course.

every time i see someone say the core expansion "isn't worth it" i get a chuckle. in a pre-bones world those minis would cost a small fortune.

But you have to want a majority of them to make it worthwhile. Personally, I wanted the Dragon Turtle to come out in bones. But now, to get it, I need to also pick up a bunch of other items I am not sure I want or care about - or hope that enough other people add the expansion that it makes it to retail. This problem is compounded if you are an international supporter, because now you are also paying shipping, duties, vat, tax, etc. for things you don't want.

I think it would have been better if the choices in the expansion were themed (e.g. different types of cavalry) or at least related in some way. As it stands, the included minis seem slightly schizophrenic (dragon turtle, sully from Monsters Inc., Egyptian statues, zombies). There is no flow/cohesion. It is as if someone at Reaper threw darts to determine what made it into the expansion.

You don't need to buy anything but the Dragon Turtle. These miniatures should be in regular production after the KS is over. Then you can just buy your turtle.

I just did a list of pre-existing metal minis that will find their way on to BONES in this kickstarter.

I hope you enjoy and help me with the ones I didn´t find.

Right now I did just up to 1,414,000 stretch goal, and as soon as we unlock the next ones I will be updating it.

you can find it here

"Worth" refers to value. Cost is static; value is purchaser-dependant. Something can cost virtually nothing and still have no value to me, making it a poor value proposition even if it is much less expensive than usual. Alternatively, something can be very expensive, yet be a good value proposition.

And note that selling off the things you don't want has a cost associated with it, at least in labor, so it may not make sense even if the price is far below the old retail and even significantly below the expected new retail.

ah, so the change in medium has a many fold change in "value" unrelated to cost, but people still want them? curious....

im just being snarky. i follow your logic. it is for that exact reason that i will be buying these at retail when they come out. i have a $1 pledge for the kraken, some paints, and maybe a dragon or two (please let there be goroloths!) and everything else i want am happy to pay full price for in a year. i will sure cheer the rest of you on, though, so i have more to choose from when they are released.

ghasp! whisper. ghasp! "full price!" they will say. "what a fool," they will mumble.

Hmmm, maybe I didn't express myself very well. Please, let me try again. What do you think people's reaction to the core expansion would have been if the initial setup for the core expansion was:

1 BIG dragon (~$25 value) with 2 medium dragons (~10 each/or 15 for both), followed by reveals of... more dragons.

or:

1 Goroloth with fish people, followed by reveals of aboleths/more oceanic monsters

I think it would have changed the tenor of the discussion. Now it wouldn't be people saying the expansion "isn't worth it", they might say it doesn't interest them, but that is an entirely different discussion/perception.

In regards to the "free" rewards - I wonder if this would work out better to keep everyone happy...

... run BOTH of the rewards (purple & orange) as "Orange Options" and each Purple Reward is instead a "Select 1 Option to Add-on to your order - no extra charge".

Different valued add-ons kind of throw a wrench in this idea, like $10 (oh rats) vs $18 (paint), but they could say Paints are 2 Options.

Gold could be add-on only or 3 Options (I'm not sure of the equivalent value, so I was thinking 3 might be fair).

It's too late this go around, but maybe next time.

I highly doubt that would happen given that one of their stated goals was to reduce the complexity of orders.

I'm not sure this is more complicated than it is now.

$1 orders will be adding-on a plethora of various Options, so will Core buyers.

Or, do you mean simpler for the backers? Cause they seem to be confused by the Expansion, but handling it.

Again, I know it's too late for this round - unless they offer trade-ins at the end (which would be freakin sweet).
