So, tell me about Pathfinder

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know where I can find INDIVIDUAL gaming dice that I pick the color of? I need a baggy of blue dice to represent shields and most of them are D4's but for some damn reason they are hard as hell to find by themselves AND have control of the color.

So what spy does the White Box and BECMI get?

Which should make the issue perfectly clear. ::): (No matter the edition, it's all about killing things and taking their stuff.... ::P: )

Ok that covers the White box but we still need a spy for BECMI

...Wait aren't the hardy boys detectives rather than spies?

Here you go - BECMI:

And OD&D:

(In case you were wondering - that is Barry Nelson, the first James Bond, from Climax! in 1954....)

One of the things that makes Pathfinder stand out is that they have open playtests for many of their upcoming subsystems.

Right now they are testing some new classes - and if you have been getting the updates you can see how the classes are being changed from their original concepts - Advanced Class Guide.

I gather that the playtests started as a means to stall for time so that they could start working on the rules without losing the interest from folks - and then they realized how bloody useful it is to have lots and lots of folks looking for the problems.

So, they have continued the practice on the more rules heavy books.

Funny, I read that and I said to myself, 'whoa these classes are pretty powerful'. Then I went to the playtest boards and read all the comments from people who think that the classes should be made more powerful

To my reading... it seems to be about a 50/50 split.

To my eye... they look relatively balanced - though the first version of the Warpriest was... easy to abuse. (If you ever played Warhammer Online... they were a lot like Warrior Priests in that game....)

Presenting Amiri, she's an Iconic Barbarian from Reapers Pathfinder line.

Had this one a little while, but all the fiddly bits kept putting me off (and I normally like fiddly minis), she turned out to be super fun to paint though.

As always any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

I painted Goremaw the Great Worm up as a fire-infused purple worm for a unique creature from the Pathfinder setting of Galorion.  I am running the Curse of the Crimson Throne AP in D&D 3.5, and this creature will show up in my game tonight.  It is my first finished creature miniature (I have done some terrain previously), and being a perfectionist, I put in 48 hours of work on him (lots of nooks and crannies, and I don't have an airbrush).

I finished him last night, reaching the "good enough" state, as time didn't allow me to put off varnishing him any further.

I started posting a WIP thread when I started working on him several months ago.  Check it out HERE.

Here are my Cindermaw glamor shots.

Here is the start of pathfinder red, which I’ll be doing as a Sapphire dragon, similar to what i did with the Grenadier Red Dragon II (which I did as  a Ruby dragon) a while ago.

Just base colors here; dark blue/black wash over his entire body, earth wash over the sand, and white statue. I really like how the blue and brown look together. The brown will be lightened up to sand, and the blue will end up a more saturated dark blue. I hope those colors will still look good together...

Some people might call it Minivember, though technically I had 23 days of vacation and just wanted to paint a mini every day. Some were finishing older minis, some entirely new, some were the size of a nailclipping. I present, my Minivember.
