AnneO'Leary
I'm loving all that blood spatter Miss Melon! That's the Strumpet isn't it? Okay, there's so many cool and fun, fun stuff on here that I've decided to join in. This is the deal though, it's just for fun and I'm not allowed to drive myself up a tree over it and I'm not allowed to stay up past my normal bed time to get it done. My goal is to speed paint a couple figures and scratch build a setting for a dio. If it looks like utter crap, I'll just put it in my WIP as proof of my failure. If it doesn't look too bad, I'll toss it in here for a laugh.
MissMelons
I'm loving all that blood spatter Miss Melon! That's the Strumpet isn't it? Hah, yeah. I think I went a little crazy with the blood splatter though, you can barely tell that I actually painted and put detail into the dress now. But I love her anyways. Moderator OneBoot Posted October 29, 2013 Moderator Share Posted October 29, 2013 @MissMelons - :D Your reimagining of this sculpt is very clever and creative! I love how the meaning of her "come hither" is now completely different from what it was before; now it's "come hither so I can EAT YOU." Well done indeed! @Anne - This word, failure...I don't think it means what you think it means. Looking forward to seeing your entry, you always have the most gorgeous work!! Huzzah! --OneBoot :D

If you think THAT'S bad you should see my Misaki... Oh my, that's bloody! Your Bloody Pool looks awesome though! I have to learn to do that. I used glaze varnish on the blood on her face and hands and chest so that it looks 'fresh' and still wet.

If you think THAT'S bad you should see my Misaki... That congealed blood at her feet is awesome. Now I want to bloody up my scene. I have an alter that would look cool with blood pouring down it, but I've no idea what colour to use to make realistic looking blood. I've gotta go to Youtube and find a tutorial. I want gore!!!

Baugi
What a brilliant concept. LOVE this, Thrym! Edited October 30, 2013 by Baugi
Thrym
Thanks, Baugi. It was part-and-parcel with the concept from the get go. Just thought I was behind getting it done. Mr. Bones is removable from the diorama. I painted the OSL on the ground and objects near the glowing game board steps. The sign while not an exact match to the one in the game board from the Kickstarter was much more readable this way. I might take some more photos of different sides tomorrow without the dramatic lighting so you can see the work in it ... albeit a bit on the "NEED TO GET IT DONE!!" side. You can reference the WIP for Bones and his Pledge Walk. http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/51706-mr-bones-trick-or-treat/ Sadly, as I was rushing this ... I took less photos for WIP progress on the diorama. Oh, well.
MonkeySloth
I had wondered why you had him on a bright yellow base. This is awesome, well done.

I used water effects mixed with GW's red wash. Most people use .EDIT: To be fair, I didn't know about that method when I did this a couple of years ago. Jasper_the_2nd
I picked up Tabitha and Friends during the 12 Days of Reaper last year to give to my wife (she enjoys holiday crafts and such). She painted all of the figs (she has a much more tole painting style..also far better brush control, way more natural artistic talent, and can actually do eyes...) while I did the basing. It was a fun project, and I think she's pretty happy with the results.

ub3r_n3rd
@ Jasper - That's a really fun entry. I like the whole trick or treat story going on! @ Citrine - Wow, your painting skills ALWAYS impress me. I am curious though about how you painted up those crystals at the top of the staves? I'm trying to currently paint a crystal shard on a staff, but I'm having difficulties so if you can PM me or point me in the direction of how you did that technique to come out so amazing I'd be eternally grateful!
