Happy Bear's Chromatic Globe

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I returned to my parents' home for Thanksgiving this week, and I realized I had a TON of junk in my old bedroom. I threw out 3 large bags of trash, and I even threw out a little pink-and-purple snowglobe with two lovey-dovey teddy bears inside. Yuck, girls! What was this doing in my room?!

..But when I looked back into the garbage bag, I didn't see a girly snowglobe. I saw a delicious piece of dungeon dressing.

I reached into the garbage and took out Happy Bear's Chromatic Globe.

Check it out:

Woah, what's that? It fits exactly on a 2" base?!

Here's the "Happy Bear" part:

Yeah, I could have milliputtied it out, but it's so much more badass this way.

Plus, IT GLOWS!!!

A cutout in the styrene base allows access to the switch and the batteries.

Thanks for stopping by. ::):Hope you like it!

Nice repurposing!! I love the chromatic glowing effect, it looks like lightning or arcane magics happening! Very cool. :)

Huzzah!

      OH CURSE YOU GOBLIN!

A friend gave me this for Christmas 10+ years ago, and I have always been afraid to paint it, as I had the 'I'm not good enough now' syndrome....

Then seeing Siri's Tia-not, and then Buglips' thread on this beastie, (I mean her Dark Majesty) the 5 little voices have been saying do it, paint it, Ma'al Drakkar will be here in a year... (I need to look Good, in an evil sort of way, for that big guy!)

And since my air compressor died tonight, I thought maybe I could kill my Dremel tool to!

Going to do prep work tonight, so won't be anything exciting, but I snapped a few pics to show the components.  I don't have Sir Forscale, so I brought in his bard, Astrid the Chronicler, to show you all their sheer size...
(What is this wench doing strolling around my parts!!)

      (Ma'al is gonna be scary!)

This also to motivate me to work on it, so that I can have it ready for the end of the year....
DDS 2 is in the mail to....
Think I might be biting off more than I can get in my mouth, never mind chew...

Wish me luck! Gonna need it!
(If you don't get back to work, you'll need more than LUCK!)

Now Buglips has ME doing it!
