The Question: Why wasn't the body included in the cultist sacrificial circle?

 

The best victim for a cultist sacrifice is not a random NPC, but an NPC that means something to your players, one with a history in the game. Alternatively, a PC works even better.

And not to belabor it, but given how much hell we took over one nipple, when she was accompanied by beefcake wearing less than she was, the last thing we needed was to be attacked over "representing women as victims". And don't anybody dare say that that would not have happened, I have to hear that kind of thing regularly. Not for the first time- people often tell us that they don't mind tasteful nudity as long as it's gender fair, and (speaking as Bryanzilla) they proved to us this time that they are damn liars.

Wow, yeah, people are weird and that reaction was weird.

 

The comments got, ehrm, kind of toxic on Kickstarter. Did you guys have ways to let off steam? Because it can't have been easy having to comb through all that while making decisions in real time.

Well, we knew after KS1 that at a certain # of people, the odds of bile and vitriol at any given update becomes 100%. So we put on our thick hides for much of it. Only a few things got through to me, like the odd hatred of 2" bases, when the 1" and 3" were so well received...

Would it be possible to have estimated retail pricing of the addons and expansions? I know these are already at a low price per model but some are significantly lower than others I'd imagine. I'm looking at DDS2 as an example here, I know I want one and I'm getting one but for another $35 should I get two or three for more stuff because it will retail for north of $125?

 

Also, for Canadian shipments, I know this will ship via USPS and I'm responsible for paying for shipping this time around but should I expect to pay all duties/brokerage fee's with the shipment or will that "non-resident importer status" you applied for from KS1 have a part for this shipment too?

MSRP: Best estimates are we try for 50-60% off. Sometimes we overshoot and end up at 10% off, (and twice, actual price) and a few times we got under 30%, but 50% is pretty darn typical. We will know more when all quotes are finalized.

Canada: We're pretty sure right now that the we will not be able to do the non-resident import thing - there were some problems we never publicized.

Along these lines - Did/does Reaper have any method of determining how many commenters were active when choosing or rejecting ideas?

 

I was curious, noticing that you've made similar observations to the above (ie, there always being a vocal minority) but then seeing talk about goals getting moved around because of feedback/requests in the comments.

Will there ever be an option to buy 'just that one mini' out of a combo pack? I recall there being interest in purchasing big piles of treasure piles from KS1, for example.

As a RoW backer I have a few questions.

 

Last year my Bones were shipped to me in 2 boxes, obviously because of size restrictions. On both boxes the declared value was the Vampire pledge of $100 so I had to pay customs and VAT twice over $100. (Still not a bad deal, as my pledge was over $1,000 then.)

 

But this year the declared value will be the total pledged amount. Will you label each box with that total amount or will there be separate customs declarations for the actual contents of the box; this to avoid having to be charged two or three times over the same $850.

 

On a related subject, is it possible to add a feature to the Pledge Calculator, that shows the number of boxes that will be required for a pledge? Now I only have a rough idea that when the shipping cost jumps $50, this means an extra box, but I'm not sure if I am at 2 or 3 boxes for the moment.

 

And the response from Reaper:

This time, because we are using the actual value for declarations the boxes will be marked accordingly for the value they contain.

 

What you pay in shipping now, is what you will be billed. There will be no additional charges if our guess on the number of boxes it will take is wrong.

 

I will talk with Kit about showing all tracking numbers for a shipment when they go out instead of just one (if there is more than one box).

First off, thanks for the great product, and congratulations on another successful KS campaign.

 

Will DDS II be available for sale as it's separate components once everything hits retail next year? I.E. Dragon, ruins, adventurers

 

Also, at one point, I believe it was Ron was teasing about one of the next reveals. The hint was 'based on an 80's cartoon' . I'm fairly positive the referenced cartoon was Dungeons and Dragons...what was the miniature? I'm thinking it's the shadow demon.

Any chance of a Warlord Bones Kickstarter strictly focusing on infantry and calvery in the next few months?

 

I thought that Spider at the end couldnt be done? what changed? I heard alot of people saying its legs would be a problem considering how bonesium is.

This thread is very interesting in that it is informing me of some of the stuff I missed out on. I have been very busy with work, school, and life... of course! So I wasn't able to follow the KS all that closely outside of the last couple days. I didn't even find out about it until I luckily decided to randomly check KS one night. I had pretty much imposed a self-ban on KS for the time being until my two biggest investments are received (Drake: The Wargame and Itar's Workshop, fyi) and I had stopped spending so much (ha funny compared to how active some people are here) time on the forums. Needless to say I was shocked as all hell that I never received an e-mail about it or anything. I suppose this could be because I only got in on the 1st kickstarter after it ended officially and so I don't get a cool Bones Supporter badge (I mean really... it's so disappointing.... sigh....) and it doesn't show up in my Kickstarter account history. I'm assuming that's how the mailing list was selected...

 

Anyways. I had no idea that there was some big bad reaction about the nipple. That's freaking crazy. I am one of those people who doesn't mind nudity (as long as there are also kick elf realistically armored models too- like my favorite Trista, The White Wolf or Deenah, Devona, and Janan to call out some other great portrayals of armored women. I am totally cool with the male nudity as well. Frankly, it's embarrassing to think that there was such a response to that model.

 

I remember when I first noticed the model. It was in the pledge calculator where you can click on an item and a nice big pic of it pops up. I clicked on that and noticed their lack of clothing and "heh, she has a boob showing!" before I moved on, unscarred and fine. I do like the model (both of them actually) and I definitely am having a hard time deciding on 2 or 3 core sets LOL!

 

Anyways, my apologies for the mass of whiners, complainers, and frankly trolls (not saying anyone complaining is, but I SURE did notice a lot of ridiculously inflammatory behavior on the KS comments).

 

Now I forgot what I was going to say. Thanks though.
