80007: The Black Mist - Gunslinger

Recommended Posts

Hanging out at Reaper for the Kickstarter party got me inspired to get my brushes and paints back out. I used to post fairly regularly several years ago, but life got busy and my hobby took a back seat. Anyway, it was nice to paint again!

My friend plays a gunslinger in our Pathfinder game, and this mini from the Bones line works great for his character. I painted him up last night... tabletop is my aim, so I didn't spend a ton of time on the fiddly details. I'm happy with the way his duster turned out.

I like the duster as well. Though I'm a fantasy figure fan (f-cubed?) these chronoscope figures are growing on me. I'd love to see more.

Thanks all for the comments!

@youwashock - Yeah, I never stopped gaming, but time got short on being able to paint. I'm happy to be able to indulge in the hobby again!

The face on this guy was so deep under his hat and covered up by his scarf/bandana/thingy that I had a hard time reaching it just to do the color on his face... I didn't even attempt the eyes! o_0

Thank you for looking! I'm hoping to post another here tonight or tomorrow night... depends on when I have time.

Presenting Pigsy, part of the Guild of Harmony faction from the game Twisted.

Had a lot of fun painting this one, I was originally a bit worried by all the little details and layers of clothing but it wasn't a problem.

Presenting Cypher, a character from Games Workshops Warhammer 40k range.
My version is a mysterious and legendary Space Knight recognisable from the giant sword he carries but never uses, while he normally lives a hermit-like existence on the various, isolated outer worlds, he will occasionally pledge his services to a quest or expedition in exchange for transport off world.

Really surprised I got this one finished, he's been on my desk well past the point where I normally get fed up of looking at things, and he's not a mini I'm that interested in (I basically really like his sword scabbard).
That he turned out okay too is just a bonus.

Presenting Cal and Aponne, an Ogre and Halfling duo working for the Scylla crime family faction in the (possibly defunct) game of Wolsung.

Had this one sitting in The Cupboard of Unfinished ThingsTM at 75% done for about 3 years or so, so thought I'd get him finished while waiting for other things to dry.
It also highlights how little my painting has improved over the years

Got a new steampunk mini on the table:-

The Gentlefolk Highwaywoman (from the Twisted mini range), a robotic housemaid turned gun-wielding bandit.

So far I've painted up her face, hands and bit of thigh (Oily Steel > Black Wash > Oily Steel > Aluminium > Black Wash), the gun barrels were done at the same time but didn't get further than the 2nd layer of Oily Steel.
Next, her torso was based in Brassy Brass, and her hair and gun were based in Bronze, it was all given a Brown Wash.

I think there's more of her mechanical parts on show then I originally thought, so I'll give her a good look over tomorrow.
