Congratz on signing your life away for another X years! Not sure about airbrushes but I did see a bunch of threads in the past.

That is one of the most recent ones.

Yes, the first link is probably the best. I have heard good things about the Grex airbrush but I have not tried one myself. It is definitely worth shopping around. My favorite airbrush supplier is Chicago Airbrush Supply. They are selling the same outfit that you see on the Cool Mini link for about $120 less.

If you are still looking to buy, the most consistent bit of advice I've gotten from the 3 airbrushing miniatures classes I've taken, is get a compressor with a tank. It ensures a more even flow of air, and since the motor only kicks on when pressure in the tank is low, it saves a lot of wear and tear on the motor. Plus, it means long periods of silence when the motor isn't running. Since you'll be doing a lot of work around 12-15psi, there's no reason to have a motor that can generate 35psi on at all times.

Of course, if you're rich you can get an oil lubricated silent compressor. Then the noise won't matter.

Thanks, all. I actually used the forum search function, but it didn't seem to give any relevant results. Once my bonus actually lands in my bank account, I'll make an order.

And yeah, we'll see how secure my job really is, but for now, I'm feeling pretty good about it. It's in a critically manned field, thankfully.
