UPDATE, 08/12/2014:
Hello backers, It's important for us to say that the Kickstarter page was initially removed by mistake, but now we have decided with Fox that it might be better to stay down until the product you have pre-ordered has shipped.

This is the same for our Facebook media and images that were uploaded there. From here on, we only want to share information about the final products you will be receiving, rather than work in progress imagery or text.

The project is almost finished, we are in the final stages of approval and therefore it will be ready to ship soon.

We are not able to give an approximate date for shipping at this stage, but as soon as the final elements of the project have been approved, we will calculate printing time, assembly time and shipping time and then share the final date with you.

Thank you for your continued patience,

PRODOS Games LTD"

If they have made an error with the KS page while deleting it, why do they need to remove all the media from FB?

This is just idle speculation but I just went back to some pinball forums I havent visited in a long while and there is a company making a Predator pinball machine.

Recently they have closed down most communication, havent posted pictures of work in progress and seem not to even want to say the word 'predator'.

A lot of angst from people who have preordered and much speculation of rights problems, funding problems etc

Sound familiar?

I didnt dig too deep but the similarities are interesting.

Maybe there is a new guy in control of the IP at Fox and he doesnt like how the last guy ran the place and is clamping it all down? Who knows.

no idea if there is anything to this, but I would not be surprised if it is the case, or if that there is a potential script for something related rattling around and they want to make sure nothing that's ongoing conflicts with it

Yeh, I'm a little perturbed that KS is allowing a successfully funded KS to close their page...

They didn't really closed their page. They activated somehow the IP conflict. Deleting old KS should not do this.

But I wonder how the ip conflict shutdown from KS removed also the AVP media from Prodos Facebook page.

Considering that Kickstarter does not require creators to provide an alternate means of contact to backers, their allowing a page to be taken down like this is more than a little aggrevating. It shows Kickstarter is willing to completely ignore the needs of backers, which often is a sign a company doesn't care about consumer rights, either.

Backers aren't Kickstarter customers. They are lifting the money from the creator's pocket and all we are to them is a particularly woolly kind of sheep with an annoying bleat - Baa - I want a refund, Baa - accountability, Baa - this guy stole my money. Kickstarter just wants a new sweater and nice saddle of Mutton and if the sheep get it in the neck, well that's what sheep are for, and they've convinced themselves that there are always more sheep.

I really do not believe that prodos, who is an established company with successful lines under their belts would gamble with dodgy licenses for something as big as aliens vs predator.

Prodos has sent several messages the last few days to explain the situation as it unfolds. I am not worried. Much...

If there actually is anything fishy going on here, I might just loose all faith in humanity.

You have faith in those meatbags?

When I find myself asking this question I just hum the theme song to Spaceballs and I instantly feel better.

With how quickly the AvP miniatures on Indiegogo got killed by Fox, I think it's safe to say that the Prodos have everything in regards to copyright in order.

The KS page seems to be evidence to the contrary.

They've explained why it's down and why they are keeping it down. The indiegogo project didn't even last several hours. If you honestly believe that 20th Century Fox's lawyers would ignore a project using one of their IP's without approval  for several months you really underestimate how big companies work.
