Alien VS Predator Miniatures Games

Retail Wave 1 starts up after all KS has shipped.  This needs to happen for legit business reasons.

Actually, this is not correct, unless I'm reading this sentence wrong.

Prodos shipped skids of the base box game (Wave 1) out to retailers and they got distributed by regular distribution channels which were immediate because they were under legal obligation from FOX to send it out to retailers.

Prodos has been shipping direct to customers that placed pre-orders before Backers, because they are basically being extorted as it is considered a sale and EU law which states something along the lines of they have to get it within a certain amount of time or the customer can request their money back.

They have been shipping to Backers, but they are slowly getting it done.  Backers are still waiting on their shipments, but this expected to be completed shipping by end of August.

They partnered with Ninja Division to hand out Boxes @ GenCon for Backers, and to finish the shipping to USA/Canada, this is also anticipated to be done in August.

HOWEVER

Wave 2 is going to ship to Backers first, and then be shipped to retailers afterwards.

What he said, lol.   :;):

Anybody else get there's yet?

I got Wave 1 a couple days ago and I must confirm that it was well worth the wait.  I can't wait to have time enough to paint the minis.

In the meantime I have been penning in the edges of the die-cut components.  Given how dark this game is I've only had to use black sharpies so far and it really makes a difference as far as presentation.

I received one of my boxed sets as part of the initial "oops" shipments for Americans.

I haven't heard anything yet from Ninja Division about box #2.  I've got enough (personal) things on my plate right now that painting and modeling just isn't likely to happen, and I'm a little reluctant to get into a new project with only half my initial haul.

I've thought about taking a Sharpie to the edges (I did that with some of my original Space Hulk and Dungeonquest tiles), but I can't bring myself to do it this time.  I picked up some supplies from Happy Seppuku when they had their DIY dungeon tiles Kickstarter so I'm contemplating making my own board pieces instead of using the tiles supplied in the game.

It's good to hear about other backers getting their boxes.  I wouldn't say that I ever really "doubted" Prodos' commitment, but those long gaps with very little activity were tough to keep reading about.

Since ND did not end up with enough copies to fulfil everybody in America they decided that they would only send a single copy to backers who had ordered multuiples,

with the other copies coming from whatever 3rd party fulfilment house Prodos has decided to use to get the rest out when they arrive in the US (I'm not convinced these have been put on a boat yet)

this was done to be able to get the game into the hands of the maximum number of backers as fast as possible so you'll probably have a fair wait before your second box arrives

I did exactly this and it was 110% worth the effort.  I even used red/green/blue on the faction specific tokens to match how they're shown in the book.

Ah, I did not know this.  I've attempted to contact both ND and Prodos about the missing box and have gotten no response yet.  This explains why, lol.  No worries.  I've waited this long I can wait a bit longer.  At least I have the copy I always intended to play with on hand and ready to use.

I backed, am in the US but have no Wave 1 yet - I probably missed a Prodos email or two - have they given any word on when more will be sent out?

Looks like Ninja Division is still mailing out the first copies.  If you pledged for more than one you will likely only get the first copy now and the others in later waves.  I'm still waiting for a response back from Ninja Division about this.  I'll post it here when I get it.

Looks like they're starting on Wave 2...

Prodos Games Ltd says:

Hello all,

First things first, we'd like to clear up some confusion regarding our last update. Our intention was not to cause any panic, but to explain that if we split ship AvP, it will cost us money that we have not included in the calculations we made during our KS. There is no between the lines here, just that we will have to pay some money towards this. Apologies for the lack of clarity!

Shipping of Wave 2 will begin tomorrow. That consists of the Board Game and all available add-ons, plus the Berserker Model, Royal Guard Model and Predator Tiles.

Wave 3 will include all outstanding items – this will begin immediately after Wave 2.

We are predicting that Wave 2 will take 6 weeks to complete, due to the cost of shipping.

As for USA backers, the Board Games have made their way through customs and are now in a dispatch centre, awating the add ons. However, more than 300 backers have not yet updated their Pledge Manager with their real name or surname (using usernames instead). We will update you all with a link to the affected Post Codes in the next few days.

Last week, we visited Fox in London. We have agreed to continue manufacturing AvP as it is, as well as releasing a standalone AvP product that will have less of the 'wargaming' features of the current version – but it will be fast and furious!. More information about this when it comes and, don't worry, it won't be a Kickstarter release!

Many thanks,
Prodos Games LTD

I received a newsletter from Prodos about that just today!  I don't remember when they sent it, I'm awful about keeping up with email anymore.

Anyway, the newsletter had a nice shot for the Queen, Crusher, Predalien, Warriors, and Hellhounds.

Finally got my game box and what's currently available from the add ons.

Excellent quality models, disappointed that the miniatures in the box are missing a few pieces. I'm short 2 heads and 2 tails from the Infants and an arm from the Stalkers.

EDIT: An hour later and already got a reply saying they'll send out the parts next week. Can't fault their response time.
