what's left in Wave 3 anyway?  of everything they just shipped out I don't see the Cloaked Predators (all variants), objective markers (all variants), 'extra bits' kit for the marines, and the add-on versions of the marines.  i didn't order the resin terrain, predator ship tiles, or dice (all variants), so i cannot speak to those.  everything else seems to be currently available.

My Kickstarter rewards arrived in the US with no issues and I am glad to finally have them. I highly wish Prodos had made the offer to ship sooner if a backer was willing to pay extra for the shipment; given the cost of shipping increases in recent years it is not terribly surprising to me that shipping cost is a factor in their terribly slow disbursement of rewards.... 

 

Regardless, the miniatures look very nice indeed - some very fine resin and great detail. No idea on the game if it is good - anyone played it yet here?

Once I get mine painted I will give it a go.

 

Everything arrived safe and sound today.  Kind of regretting getting a second boxed game though.  I only did it for the extra models, but I'm seriously considering selling it at this point.

 

Dutch and Linn came with everything else.  I am very pleased with how they came out.  Hopefully we'll see a Machiko Noguchi in the future.

I must admit I did the "buy a mini from our webshop to get your pledge" option, on the grounds that "better get the pledge in hand in case they shut down".

So now I have my pledge. (Well most of it). And I can attest to Prodos having one great redeeming feature: they make wonderful minis to a very high standard.

Also the unicast mini I bought was very detailed and 3 dimentional with undercuts, holes and all. And cast in one piece! How do they do that?  Quality wise fully on par with many both metal and resin minis I have seen, and far better than bones and restic.

You who got you r pledges: did you get the (promised in the KS) 8 facehuggers or just a pack of 5 like me? Has anybody seen any info about this?

I just bought the base game and the queen. loader. warriors, predator hounds, and that weird one with the big head.  All retail....This was about 2 months ago.....You mean to tell me that people still have not gotten their shipments?!....damn!  That's crazy what its been 2 year or more?

Plenty of speculation about how Unicast works. See the Dakka threads. Warzone Resurrection, a Prodos / Archon insider, says the material is the same resin as Prodos / Archon has used before. Did you see the Prodos pic of the mold? It's a steel shell that holds a rubber or silicon mold inside. Speculation is that this mold is 3D printed.

 

As Carnacki said, for mass production, you need either the molds have been improved so the mold doesn't wear out as fast as (or at all) like conventional resin molds, or Prodos / Archon has to do better QA to avoid miscasts. Small company Kyle on a Quirkworthy Unicast post said how he had an 18% miscast rate on the not-Unicast miniatures he received for his order from Prodos. Various Dakkanauts received bendy AvP miniatures, also not Unicast. Myself, I'm going to assume the single Unicast miniatures we've been seeing are more "sample miniatures" than "production miniatures". As for the LOAD production miniatures, a Dakkanaut noted that they were shown production pictures of miniatures months ago, as well as boxes ready for shipment, before Prodos said they were low on funds for shipping and offered the webstore purchase to bump backers ahead of others in the queue. (GameZone, btw, also showed boxes of cast miniature months ago, and no sign of HeroQuest 25th being shipped.)

Well, I finally broke down.

 

I guess the special they're running on the store site is intended to get some of us hold-outs to drop for an item.  I ordered another set of Infants, and asked for the approved KS items to be included.  I included the note about my base game, I was one of the lucky few Americans that received a partial shipment of base games, but I only received one of the two games I pledged for.

 

I'm glad Prodos gave us the option even as I'm annoyed about having to use it.  Time to cross the fingers and hope for the best.

I'm not feeling ambitious enough to do any sort of unboxing post.  I need to dig out my list and see where things are now.  It's been quite a frustrating trip through this, and we're still not done.

I was so excited by this project when the Kickstarter was first announced and was really looking forward by forward to picking it up at retail.

Now though, because of all the issues and the pricing, I'm over it. Interest is gone.
