Maybe.

I've watched Girls Last Tour, the whole thing is a pair of girls pootling about an endless, mostly empty, city on their half-track motorbike trying to survive.

It was pretty good if rather depressing.

I saw the manga of that and decided I didn't need more depressing reads. 😅

But that does remind me of another one I was reading, I can't remember the name off hand, about an android and a young girl touring the remains of Japan. They find a cyborg at one point and his memories suggest that there was a war that broke out, but that's all we have. Based on the state of the world, it's been a few decades since humanity has been around.

And there was another one, with another name I can't remember, about a female android that's going around and cleaning up the biohazards left behind after a war between humans and some kind of alien race.

There's a few others, but I can't remember the names of them to save my life. The main thing is that there's usually a female character that's not human that's just seeing the world dying with not a bang but a whimper. I'm not saying it's some super popular genre but it seems to be popping up a lot. I started reading one called Alphabet[a] that seems to be about the same thing but I haven't gotten too far into it yet.

Read The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor manwha. It's another story about a young man's adventures in a VR fantasy game. In this the game is just a game and he still has to deal with things in real life. The main character is sort of a loner and accidentally got trapped into following the secret class of Moonlight Sculptor. His play style is a bit unorthodox focusing on less popular craft skills while still becoming an impressive warrior. The comic had just the right touch of humour and a bit of mystery and sadness that I really enjoyed. The problem is that the comic only covers about a quarter of the story and hasn't been updated for 2 years (unless there's somewhere I haven't found). I learned it was based on a web novel so I started ready that. The translation wasn't great and the novel doesn't convey the humour as well. But after speed reading/skimming through to close to where the comic ended I'm starting to get into it more. I think the translation has gotten better or maybe I'm just used to it now. It's long enough I'll likely be reading for awhile yet.

The name of this one is "Usuzumi no Hate." No idea what the translated name is. I forgot to mention that the biohazards are the bodies of people. They have this really weird kind of geometric black stuff growing out of them. It kind of looks like a mineral, maybe silicone? But it's right on the edge of familiar and fantastic.

If anyone is interested, it looks like "Smoking Behind The Market With You" (or whatever the translation is) is getting an official English release and I am super excited for it.

What's that about?

Googled it. Thought it was something similar to "The Devil is A Part-Timer" or "I'm Really Not the Evil God's Lackey". XD

It's just a story about a woman in her 20s hanging out with a man in his 40s, while they smoke and talk, behind a convenience store. She's also playing a prank on him, as he's her biggest "fan" but is pretending to be someone else while they're smoking. It's published monthly (roughly) so it takes forever to get updates.
