Wow. Thank you all for the incredibly kind words. To know that some of you are going to use this as an inspiration for your own is mind-boggling humbling.

Clever Crow: Thank you! I wasn't prepared for that AT ALL! :D I'll see you on FB my friend!

Vulture: I love gritty realistic looking paintjobs as well. I'm trying to get to that level that the Spanish and other European painters have while still having my own style.

I'm so thrilled that you all liked Wyrmgear. It's really made my day. After being in a car accident a week ago and dealing with that mess to having some medical issues around the same time, it's fantastic to hear. I thank you and am humbled by it. I'll try to post more works as I get them done. :)

Beautifully done! The white and yellow metals work well together and the sailcloth wings are very effective. I've been eyeing this piece for a some time now, and I think you've pushed me over the edge. Can the wings be posed in any other position besides upright?

Cheers,

Glen

Only if you don't mind doing a little cutting and repositioning them. I know that Robert Cruse has this guy and is planning on putting hinges on the wings so the do move. :D

ReaperBryan went so far as to cut out the wings and then glue on a type of paper to give it that cloth effect. I didn't have the time to do any of that and so far people have liked it! LOL

Thanks again everyone for the kind words! Means a great deal to me. :D

Stunning, just absolutely stunning. Those wings are simply incredible, and it took some time of me looking at them to convince myself they weren't actually canvas! Your freehand is very beautiful, and really makes me consider getting a couple of pens myself! But what blows my mind the most is the following:

The metals are Ceramcoat Bronze and Pewter

Those metallics are all CRAFT PAINTS underneath? ::o: Color me impressed!

Bravo indeed! A masterful work of art!

Awesome work. I'll definitely be using your pics for "reference" when I start painting mine (hopefully later this week, bits and some paints should be arriving today).

I'm modding mine to have the wings (more or less) horizontal for the diorama I'm planning. The tabs cut off quite easily with a small saw and Bones takes super glue so well that repositioning them is pretty easy. Figuring out what should show with the wings down was the hardest part for me, thus the bits I'm waiting on.

Actually hinging the wings would be really cool. I'd like to see pics of that...

Thanks OnBoot!

Most of the basecoat metals I use are Cereamcoat, then I start using some washes on them and highlight up with GW gunbolt and mithril silver (for steel) and Ceramcoat 4K Gold and GW burnished gold for brass/bronze pieces.
