They are from youtube workshop videos. I have several of these artists followed. I don't think they're aware if that website.

Oh dear. I hope this isn't one of those "if it's on the web it's not copyrighted" things.

 

(Further thought) You know, if that site just had a useful master list of links, like the one in the OP, rather than embedded videos, I think that would not be infringement.

FWIW, I think it might not be infringement anyway. Since YouTube has (always had?) embedding code as a part of its offering, when you place a video on the site, you might well be tacitly licensing the use of that code.

 

Doesn't mean I think it's right, but I suspect it's not technically infringement.

 

(Prepared to be wrong, btw, if there's something in the licensing terms that would prevent it. I'm not crazy enough to start reading legal boilerplate when it's not worth money to me.)

Good point. Where are these videos from originally?

 

 

The videos are from YouTube using their embeded coding. The site is a resource site more then it is a commercial site. The organization of the videos into categories are very helpful. I also included a Paint conversation chart, pdf on painting and terrain. Example: I spent many hours looking at good ways to paint fire. I organized what I found that produced the best results. I also include the names of the artist or Youtuber who s video it is being shared.

I love that everything is here in such a nice organized fashion, It's incredibly convenient. I would just feel better if the artists knew about it or endorsed it in some way.

If you look at it from my prospective, I'm endorsing the artist by sharing their videos and talents. I'm in no way presenting them as mine own. Your point was my concern to organize it into an easy list of creative ideas.

That's true, but it wasn't clear whether these were contibutors to this site or simply contributors to Youtube who were gathered and organized by this site.

 

On the other hand, embedding videos is not copyright infringement and I should have been more careful in my use of language. The artist of each video is credited on the site, which helps to show he good intentions of the compiler.

It may not be required, but it is nice to let the artists know their work is appreciated.

Thanks for the kind words about my site. It took so much time organizing I didn't think to let the artist know where it was being posted also the time it would take would take away from other projects I have set.

But it does give me a great idea. I have a page for Painters4hire, I will find out if they do commission work and add them to that page as well. This is what's great about forums. It puts fresh eyes into an idea that can be expanded into something better. Look for changes happening soon
