Iron Ring Games, a Canadian game and game component company, is proud to introduce Labyrinths, customized modular terrain. Labyrinths is our new 25mm gaming terrain that is a fresh approach to the classic 3-D terrain used with RPG's, board games, and tabletop war games.

Labyrinths are made from a grey color-infused, high strength die stone, making the game pieces durable, affordable, and visually appealing right out of the box.

These guys are making Hirst Arts licensed terrain sets and have hit their funding already. Personally I'm pretty happy to be able to get the terrain without having to pay shipping from the US :)

I'm really happy to see some relatively local gaming stuff coming out of the Halifax area.

And as a long time Hirst Arts fan (the 4 inch circular tower mold was first thing I ever bought over the internet..) it's awesome to see someone selling his licensed stuff in Canada.

Of course, with 200+ lbs of cast dental plaster already waiting to be used, I'll likely pass on the KS.

But they do have an add-on on the Gamer Gridz KS for some dungeon accessories which I don't have the molds for...might snag a set of those.

Thanks for the link. Looks pretty interesting. I know nothing about these guys. It seems to be a little more modular than the other dungeon tiles we've seen, which can be a plus or minus depending on how you look at it. The walls are separate from the floors, aren't they? That's more set up time, but also more versatility. Easily packed away.

it is a very professional looking presentation, but different from other Kickstarter setups, and I find it a little confusing at first.

Hmm, looking at the stretch goal chart, located here

the images on the left column seem to be the basic options, and each image to the right of that seems to represent an added stretch goal. They are at 7500 already, so that represents the first two stretch goals. Sounds good. Ah, the first update confirms this. Let's see how quickly they get their second update out.

Will definitely be watching this one. Shipping included makes me feel special.

EDIT: it is also unusual for that chart to show the full stretch goals up to 25K, with the photo on the last right column showing the full expanded pledge. Interesting to see if that works.

EDIT EDIT: Have any Canadians backed a canuckstarter before? The payment system is different: no amazon. Does that mean that there is no amazon fee, and if so, who gets it?

I've backed the flying towers campaign, but it doesn't tell me if campaigner gets tagged with fees - there is amazon.ca so I can't imagine that you get away from the fees. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/276897316/gamer-gridz/comments

They seem to have a real handle on shipping costs and shipping delivery tiers (eg not promising everyone they can deliver everything all at once and instead staggering shipments).

Seems like folks are learning from other projects mistakes.

I backed a Canadian Kickstarter before, Nelvana of the Northern Lights, and the amount was charged directly to my credit card by Kickstarter. I would hope the project creator gets to keep Amazon's cut, though I wouldn't be surprised if Kickstarter claimed a bigger fee since they are doing the extra step of collecting funds Amazon usually looks after.

I am backing this. I really like the shots they have on their page, so much so I am even considering buying a painted set. The detailing options look fantastic, and the colour schemes are really vibrant. Bad timing though, ending a week before Christmas, I'd probably have more disposable income if this were run at a different time.
