Citizens of Calamity - Part of the Painting Binge

My western town of Calamity finally has some new, painted, denizens to populate it. This is the rest of the stuff I managed to finish before the end of the holiday weekend. Although there are 8 minis in the picture only 5 of them count towards the total. That brings me up 22 for the holiday weekend.

You have a very crisp painting style. I like it, really helps tie all these minis together even though they're from so many different manufacturers.

Of course the bases help in that too. Did you make those yourself?

I wanted to get everything on a consistent base so I found some lower profile 25mm rounds that are actually lipped and use those for all my western miniatures. The bases sort of have a rough ground sculpted in them but its pretty low relief, for interior bases I use green stuff and sculpt in some pretty rough floorboards. For the exterior versions I have a mix of very fine ballast with some larger rock. You can see those my other Calamity thread. These are all game miniatures for conventions in fact so I don't spend as much time on them as others.

It's good to see you painting so much Kris. These are excellent and will look grand in Calamity. My favourite is the female in the red dress. Did you free hand the decorative parts of her dress?

Do you mean the one in the brown dress? I didn't do any freehand on her, everything is part of the sculpt. Yea, I need to get back into full painting mode time to start thinking about convention miniatures.

Last citizen for Calamity for a bit, I'm about to do my road warrior routine for the next couple of weeks.

I managed to paint up one mini in between trips back and forth to Maryland.

 

My shading maybe to subtle on this one, the camera can't seem to pick up the tones in his face very well.
