Popular Post Clint
I've been painting a mini per week since January, as part of a New Year's Resolution to do something about a burgeoning collection of unpainted minis. Mostly thanks to my buddy David, who cajoled me into doing it to help promote his new blog, the Caffeineforge. I was bit grumpy about it at first, but as I look back at everything I painted this year, I really owe him some gratitude. This little venture has improved my painting more than anything else I've ever done since switching from Testor's enamels to Polly S acrylics more than 25 years ago. Not to mention getting more minis completed than I've done in the last five years combined! So, I've been putting these up over at my deviantart gallery, but here's a few of my favorites. Week 1: WH40K Ork Week 10: GW's Manor House Week 11: My first Bones... the Great Worm. Week 18: Seltyiel. My first shot at OSL. The Eyebeast I'm going to take a break from the 1 mini per week effort after the new year, as I've had to let other things slide to keep up. But I'll definitely be painting more frequently and will throw pics and links up in this thread as I finish them. Thanks!
Girot
I do believe I've seen your stuff come across my feed on deviantART! :D
Pragma
I really like your Seltyiel, the OSL is very effective. And you did a good job of highlighting all the little detailed bits that make this model interesting.
AnneO'Leary
Ooh those building from GW are nice. Great eye candy for the table methinks. I really like the palette you chose for the Great Worm. Nice job all around!
Stern Kestrelmann
Nice... Not sure about the special effects lighting, but that's a nice grouping. My fav is the Manor House... SK
Clint
With the holidays and some family emergencies, all I've had time for have been the minis I've done for the Monday Miniature challenge. and
Knight of the Dinner Table
The sarcophagus is simply brilliant (with the bases and the columns). The stone golem looks - and please take that as a compliment - totally ... a ... stoned? No ... totally like stone.
Grumpy Cave Bear
I like the granite-like effects on the stone golem. How'd you do the speckling?.
Clint
I like the granite-like effects on the stone golem. How'd you do the speckling?. With a toothbrush. Applied the paint directly to the toothbrush, then pulled my thumb back along the bristles, sending paint flying everywhere. As you might imagine, this made a terrible mess, but a wonderful granite texture.

I'm considering doing the same thing to get a good blood splatter on 80022: Berkeley, Zombie Hunter when I get around to painting her. It's great getting back into doing regular painting, isn't it? I finally got my A into G earlier this year as well, and like you I've painted more in that time than the last five years or so. It's easy to say that you don't have enough time for it, but if you push yourself to do it regularly you can see the improvements.

Fremen
That sarcophagus is really cool! I can imagine stumbling into a room and finding this in the center...opened...and feeling a growing chill come up my spine as the realization that the occupant is still close by. Love the granite texture you achieved on the golem as well!

Until I saw an email about this a few hours ago, I had no idea any of this existed. Back in 2014, I went into a coma. When I finally came out, I thought it was 1998. Been a strange, wild ride since then. Really weird looking at minis I don't remember painting. Thank god for email notification, eh?
