Looking for a Fig for my new Traveller Character

Recommended Posts

Okay,

So the crew is back together for a new campaign. The guy running chose Traveller. So I need a new fig. My guy was 7 terms navy, with a frozen watch mishap and a bad aging roll in the 5th term. Taking hits to Str, Dex and End. He muster out a Capt, age 42. I see him with a cane or leg braces from the frozen watch incident, military bearing but not necessarily in uniform. Any Ideas for a fig would be great, if its from a line other than Reaper that would be fine with me, but Reaper is always my go to fig producer.

Both have canes and a somewhat military posture, but might be from the wrong era for you. Neither look particularly naval.

High-ranking modern military type; could easily be a captain, but no cane. Boots could possibly be painted to look leg-brace-y?

(Or one of the other IMEFs or NOVAs.) Clearly sci-fi military; probably not what you're looking for.

Pretty cool futuristic mini; could be military-esque; no leg issues though.

Military bearing, with cat.

(In other news, why did nobody tell me Reaper made not-Firefly minis?)

Corvus Belli's Infinity Line is pretty good for sci-fi figs. But for your particular guy.... maybe not with out modifications.

What tech level (does Traveller still use TLs? ) is this character's medical implants/equipment? A cane is a TL2 object.

How you kit him out with TL12 [?] gear is going to have more to do with how the fig should look.

SLENDERTROLL good choices I like the Drake fig I'll have to get rid of the hat and sculpt a crew cut on him. I like Andre too.

Tech levels are still in play. My chracter's home planet was tech level 11. Jump 2 and true AI start at that level. While the cane is tech 2 it has a "stately" feel to go with his 12 social standing. I have thought about medical care to reverse the frozen watch mishap. Not sure about the aging effect slam he took though; i have to wait for GM's decision on that.

So in addition to the standard carafe of Tropicana orange juice with the oh-so-handy cylindrical lid with gothic arches all around that we all know about, Tropicana makes a sort of  pitcher of orange juice with a pop-top lid:

A lid that can do ... THIS:

This rulebook looks like it would scratch the sci fi campaign itch for some fellow forumites.

Technically these belong here, as the masts are painted.

The rest is printed paper and thread, from War Artisan.

Can't seem to find these guys.  It says they're from Bones 3.

“The enemy fleet brings its guns to bear as your captains await your command. Yet you hold your course even as fear threatens to test your mettle. You know the broadside you are poised to receive will be returned in kind, and with a single cunning maneuver your fleet will gain the weather gauge. The wooden behemoths creak and groan as the wind pushes them into position. With one sharp word the sky blackens with the smoke of canon fire. The battle begins!”

Oak & Iron is a 1/600th scale naval game set in the age of piracy, imperial expansion, and above all - fighting sail. It allows players to recreate battles between squadrons and small fleets of armed sailing ships. The game is designed to be true to the theme and tactics of the period while supplying significant flavor for the various factions. Players of Oak & Iron can expect to find all the usual design hallmarks fans of Firelock Games have come to know and love:  innovative rules, historical integrity, and beautiful models.
The starting point for the game is the Oak & Iron: Core Box below.  We have included everything that you will need to play right out of this box, including six starting factions and a large amount of customization options for your squadrons and individual ships. We have done our best to add as much stuff to the Core Box as we could, but larger orders with manufacturers means less cost. A savings which we in-turn pass on to our backers through stretch goals. With this Kickstarter, our hope is to add an even greater value to the Core Box over the course of this campaign and launch a game that we will support with new releases for years to come.
